Evans Take 5 Challenge: Snake Print Skater Dress

I was contacted by Carina from Evans, asking if I was interested in taking part in a blogger challenge for them. They have asked 5 bloggers to style one dress in their own way, and their Facebook fans will then vote which one of us did it best. So my answer was obviously yes, I’m always up for a challenge, especially with fashion! :)
The dress in question is this, Snake print skater dress. I’m actually sure that I would have never tried this dress on without this challenge. It doesn’t look anything special on the hanger, and snake print has never been something that appealed to me. BUT first impressions aren’t always right – this dress looks really nice on, and it is really lovely soft and lightweight material that feels really good!
So, how did I style it? Well first of all I wanted to really rock it up, wear it with boots, biker jacket, wet look leggings, and smoky eyed makeup. But yeah, then the summer came back (I’m NOT complaining, I LOVE this fact!).. so I had to come up with something lighter :). I still wanted to accessorise it with black, so this is what I came up with: black belt on a bow, black patent mary janes, black flower brooch, and to make it at least a bit ‘rock’.. my new studded bag and my fave accessory, red lipstick.
Dress: 20, Evans | Shoes: Evans (similar) | Belt: from a Reiss skirt (basically just a fabric ribbon) | Bag: Primark (similar) | Brooch: H&M (similar) | Glasses: LensWay (similar) | Lippy: Natural Collection Moisture Shine in Crimson (available in Boots)
This would be a really nice look to wear on a date, cute and formal, but still edgy. In my case the ‘date’ was my brother, since I wore this outfit to meet him for breakfast at the airport (silly pic of us here), since he had some waiting time. And of course I sneakily asked him to take my outfit pics ;). It was the first time he took my outfit pics, and he was making fun of my poses, and wondered when had I gotten so comfortable in front of the camera. Haha bro, that’s what blogging does to you :D.
I really liked doing this challenge, another way to push my boundaries, since this print was definitely totally new to me. I can’t wait to see how the other bloggers style it, go check out how Becky did hers – she looks absolutely gorgeous :)!
I hope you liked how I styled the dress.. and if you did, please vote for me at the Evans Facebook page :). (Shameless, I know.. haha)
Love this on you! Snake print really suits you and I love all your little accessories :-) xx
Thank you my lovely :)! Yeah I’m happy that I took part in this challenge, got a new print I like, yay! xx
Absolutely beautiful and I love the flower… it just gives the whole look that extra “pop!”
Thank you Kim :) xx
Oooh, pretty dress! I love the longer sleeves of it, and you look gorgeous, lady! :D Glad you had a good visit with your brother, too. <3
Thank you babe <3!
Wow! You look AMAZING in this dress! Snake print is something I would never go near.. mostly because I tend to fear all animal prints, but seeing you in this makes me really glad I picked up their black version of this dress. Might have to go back and get the red too!
Thank you Rebecca :)! Yeah I was really out of my comfort zone with this print, but I’m glad it turned out fine :)! xx
You look incredible!! I’d not normally wear snake print myself, but I’m definitely a fan of a good skater dress and seeing how fab it looks on all you challengers, its making me slightly tempted…although I’d definitely want to style it similar how you mentioned you would if it was colder…this is definitely a cooler weather dress imho!
Thank you lovely lady :). Yeah snake print wouldn’t be the first one for me to go to either.. this was my first time trying it out. Haha. But like you, I do love skater dresses! xx
The dress is absolutely gorgeous! I really like the bag too :)
Thank you Lucy :)! The bag is in stores at Primark right now. xx
