Hello my lovies,
Taking Shape is an Australian plus-size retailer with over 28 years of experience and over 130 stores in Australia and New Zealand. They have recently appeared on UK high street with 17 stores and more on the way, and they make clothes in sizes 14-26. They promise a friendly shopping experience and their store teams are all trained advisors and fashion stylists.
I was contacted by Taking Shape a while ago, and they asked if I was interested in trying some of their clothes. I had seen some reviews around, and went to have a closer look at their site. Now let me be honest, their clothes are really not for me, but generally I am happy to see more brands on the high street where plus-sized women can shop. BUT I am excited about one part of their clothing: the activewear. It’s really hard to find activewear for plus-sizes (while the society complains because fat people don’t exercise.. yeah, bit of a conflict in there), and Taking Shape has a really lovely and affordable range of jackets, tops, and bottoms for exercising. I went for the Live In jacket, Infinity Crop Pant and Infinity Relax Tank, all in size XXL (all of these are now in sale and almost sold out, but they have brought out a lot of new, similar items to the activewear range).
I went for a walk in Hampstead Heath to test the clothes, and they’re really lovely. Comfy, stretchy and breathable, like activewear should be. There’s also pockets for your keys (even in the tank), which is very essential, and missing from a lot of activewear – so well done Taking Shape! I can definitely recommend their activewear to any plus-sized woman :).
