I’m sure most of you know that last weekend was the weekend of Plus London 3. I had Mimmi staying with me for the weekend, and since neither of us was feeling too well (damn flu), we didn’t go to the event for the whole day. When we got to Shoreditch we had lunch with Mouna and her hubby, and then went to the venue. Even though we weren’t there for the whole day, from what we could see, it was all lovely, and the organisers Claire, Isha, Kirsty, Lauren and Michelle did an amazing job! I had a great time chatting with old and new blogger friends, and it was lovely to see the girls from Curvy Kate and Simply Be again :).

And of course Mimmi and I had to take outfit photos when we were walking to the venue. Shoreditch is an area with lots of lovely street art, and there’s endless amazing backgrounds for photos! By the way, this top and skirt were my fave ASOS sale bargains. The t-shirt is from the ASOS main range (sadly sold out) and it was £8, and this kilt-type skirt is just awesome, and it’s still available here in all Curve sizes for only £8.50!

Viime viikonloppuna Mimmi oli täällä kylässä, ja shoppauksen ja asukuvamaratonien välissä me käytiin myös Plus London 3 -tapahtumassa. Tavattiin ensin Mouna ja hänen miehensä ja käytiin lounaalla The Dinerissä (josta Mimmi postasi). Tämän jälkeen sitten mentiin iltapäiväksi itse tapahtumaan. Oli kiva nähdä bloggaajakavereita, ja tehdä myös uusia tuttavuuksia. Ja tykkään aina vähän turista Curvy Katen ja Simply Ben tyttöjen kanssa – ihania tyyppejä :)!

Tapahtuma oli Shoreditchissä, joka on Lontoon ‘hipster-aluetta’. Seiniltä löytyy paljon makeita graffiteja ja maalauksia, joten tietysti otettiin Mimmin kanssa asukuvat matkalla tapahtumaan. Mun asusta löytyi aiemmin sillä viikolla ostaneeni ale-löydöt ASOSilta, t-paita maksoi vaan 8 puntaa (on jo loppuunmyyty), mutta ihanaa kilttimäistä hametta löytyy täältä vielä kaikissa Curve-koissa.. ja hinta on huimat 8,50 puntaa!!!

So, like you might have seen on blogs last week, Simply Be held an event for bloggers to meet Gok Wan and see his new shapewear and lingerie range up close. I saw people planning outfits on Twitter, and I got slightly panicky as I hadn’t given my outfit much thought. I ended up wearing some of my current fave pieces, and I hope it was ok for ‘the stylish one’ :)! Haha. At the event itself I was feeling tired and grumpy, it was really warm at the room. Gok himself asked me a few times if I was alright. Oops, sometimes my grumpy and socially awkward Finnish personality comes out too much I guess. Funny thing is, Mimmi and I saw Gok at the pub yesterday by accident.. we chatted a bit and I think I finally managed to convince him that I was indeed alright back on Weds :D!

Niinkuin olette saattaneet nähdä muissa blogeissa, Simply Be kutsui brittibloggaajia koolle viime keskiviikkona. Illan aikana saatiin tavata Gok Wan, ja tutustua herran uuteen muotoilevien alusvaatteiden mallistoon. Muut bloggerit tuntuivat puhuvan Twitterissä jo paljon aiemmin siitä, mitä aikovat laittaa päälle tilaisuuteen, mutta itselläni oli sitten paniikki vasta samana päivänä. Päädyin pukeutumaan vaatteisiin jotka on aikalailla mun lemppareita tällä hetkellä, ja toivottavasti tämä asu kelpasi ‘herra tyylikkäälle’ ;). Itse tapahtumassa olin väsynyt ja kärttyinen, paljolti johtuen siitä, että huoneessa oli ihan järkyttävän kuuma. Gok itse tuli kysymään multa pariin otteeseen että ‘oletko varmasti ok?’. Hiukan hävetti, mutta en osannut siellä piilottaa megasosiaalisia tilanteita ja small talkia välttävää suomalaista luonnettani kunnolla, haha. Mutta kävipä eilen sitten hassu sattuma.. oltiin Mimmin kanssa pubissa sidulla ja syömässä, ja eikös herra Wan kävele samaan pubiin sisään :D! Hän muisti minut, ja toivottavasti tällä kertaa sain hänet uskomaan, että olin todellakin ihan ok. Hullua, pieni tämä maailma.

Last week I went to Finland for a quick visit, just to relax and heal my shoulder while hanging out with mom. On the way to my home town I stopped in Helsinki and went to visit the Junarose showroom with Mimmi. I have posted about my visit to the London showroom before (see the post here), so I was very interested in seeing what styles they would have at the showroom in Helsinki. The lovely ladies who handle Junarose sales and PR in Finland showed us around and we got to see a lot of upcoming styles (which were indeed different than what I saw in London). They also kindly let us take a few photos, so here’s a little sneak peek to Junarose SS14.

Kävin viime viikolla pikaisella visiitillä Suomessa, tulin vaan rentoutumaan ja olkapäätäni hoivaamaan pariksi päiväksi – ja sehän on parasta äidin hoivissa. Kotimatkalla pysähdyin Helsingissä ja kävin tutustumassa Junarosen showroomiin Mimmin kanssa. Olen postannut aiemmin visiitistäni Lontoon showroomiin (lue postaus englanniksi täällä), ja olin utelias näkemään millaisia tuotteita olisi näytteillä Helsingissä. Junarosen myyntiä ja PR:ää hoitavat Heidi ja Anu näyttivät meille paikkoja, ja nähtiin paljon tulevia Junarose-ihanuuksia (jotka olivat eri tuotteita mitä näin Lontoossa). Saatiin myös lupa ottaa vähän kuvia, joten tässä olisi pieni vilkaisu Junarosen kevääseen.

Maybe you are tired of me talking about autumn already, but I’m just so happy to use more layering, jackets, coats, boots, etc.. so yes, more dark autumn outfits are coming.. ;). I got some new season goodies from Simply Be a few weeks ago, and this posts features two of the items. I fell in love with this dress when I saw it in their catalogue, but I was sure that it wouldn’t work for my body shape. I’m SO HAPPY I took the risk and asked for it anyway. I did size up though, so the dress wouldn’t be very clingy, and I think it works well. The ankle boots are another item I got from Simply Be, and I can’t describe how much I love them. I would only love them more if they were real leather, but that might make them too perfect ;).

Ehkä te olette jo kyllästyneet mun syksy-hehkutukseen, mutta syksy-muoti saa mut niin innostuneeksi! Saa käyttää takkeja ja bleisereitä ja saappaita ja ja ja ja.. Eli joo, enemmän tummaa ja syksyistä asua tulossa ;). Sain Simply Be:ltä jokusen uuden kauden tuotteen pari viikkoa sitten, ja tässä postauksessa näkyy niistä kaksi. Rakastuin tähän mekkoon, kun näin sen kuvastossa, mutta olin varma ettei se toimisi mun kroppamallilla ollenkaan. ONNEKSI otin riskin ja pyysin sen joka tapauksessa! Otin kyllä kokoa suuremman kuin yleensä, ettei keskikohta kinnaisi pahasti, ja mun mielestä tää mekko toimii kuin toimiikin :). Toinen saamani tuote on nämä nilkkurit, ja RAKASTAN niitä. Ainoa syy miksi voisin rakastaa niitä vielä enemmän olisi, jos ne olisivat aitoa nahkaa. Mutta joo, sitten ne saattaisivat olla liiankin täydelliset ;).

Nyt olis jälleen Fatshion Faceoffin aika. Jos et ole vielä tietoinen tästä ‘projektista’ jota teen 4 muun plussa-bloggaajan kanssa, niin lisätietoa (englanniksi) löytyy täältä. Tämän viikon teemaksi Mhairi valitsi ‘Kenkäsaappaat’. Yritin Mimmiltä kysellä, että miksikä tällaisia kenkiä Suomessa kutsutaan. Nämä kun ei ole peruskorkkarit, eikä nilkkasaappaatkaan.. englanniksi nämä on siis ‘kenkäsaappaat’, joten tämä saa heittomerkeissä nyt kelvata ;).

Mulla on vain yksi pari tällaisia kenkiä, joten ei ainakaan tullut valinnan vaikeutta. Yhdistin kenkiin Forever 21+ maxi mekkoni, tosin käytin sitä tässä hameena ja puin yläosan päälle mun uuden My Little Pony- ‘napapaidan’. Siis en edes leikkinyt My Little Ponyillä paljon lapsena, mutta tämä paita oli PAKKO SAADA!

Nyt olis jälleen Fatshion Faceoffin aika. Olen kiireen takia joutunut jättämään pari edellistä Faceoffia väliin, mutta nyt onneksi ehdin postaamaan! Aluksi kuvittelin, että mun pitäisi jättää tämäkin viikko väliin, sillä en muistanut omistavani yhtään pääkallo-aiheista vaatetta. Sitten yllättäen tämä lahjaksi saamani huivi tuli mieleeni, ja nyt tätä kirjoittaessani muistin, että onhan mulla yks kaulakorukin jossa on pääkalloja.

Tämä asu oli päälläni viime lauantaina, jolloin kävin Harry Potter studio kierroksella ystäväni Ishan kanssa. Kierros oli loistava, ja siellä oli NIIN paljon nähtävää. Yllättäen otin valtavan määrän valokuvia, ja ajattelin tekeväni niistä postauksen. Kiinnostaisiko teitä lukea siitä lisää?

I told you a while ago that I’ll save my favourite outfit photos from NYC to a later time.. Well, now it’s time to post them. I wouldn’t say that this was my favourite outfit that I wore on my trip, BUT I love how these photos turned out and the location. Dani (see her post about that day here) and I were on our way to have dinner – actually the most amazing pizza ever – when we passed the Flatiron Building. The building is gorgeous, and we decided to use the area as a location for these pics. It’s weird, we didn’t even try any tricks or anything, but these photos turned out VERY New York. The yellow taxis in the background, building, lights, even the tourists.. All of this makes me miss the city so much, hopefully will be able to go back soon :).

Vähän aikaa sitten sanoin postauksessa, että säästelen yksiä kuvia kesäiseltä New Yorkin reissulta ‘pahan päivän varalle’. Tässä se päivä nyt sitten on.. mulla on ollut kamalan kiireinen viikko, heti maanantaina olin puoleen yöhön asti töissä, ja se vähän sitten pilasi koko viikon unet yms. (Olen siis töissä mainostoimistossa, ja puskettiin pitkää päivää yhden joulupresentaation kanssa.)

Asukuvia en siis ole ehtinyt ottamaan, mutta onneksi oli nämä säästössä – ja rakastan näitä kuvia. Tää ei varmastikkaan ole mun lemppari kaikista asuista mitä käytin reissussa, mutta itse asukuvat on ehdottomat lempparit. Olin menossa DIY Fatshionin Danin (hänen postauksensa samasta paikasta löytyy täältä) kanssa illalliselle, syömään ihan parasta pizzaa ikinä, ja ohitettiin Flatiron Building. Rakastan tuota kaunista rakennusta, ja se muistutti mua myös Suomesta, sillä bongasin Marimekon myymälän naapuritalosta :). Päätettiin ottaa asukuvat siinä, ja otenkin ihan vahingossa onnistuttiin todella sisäistämään New York näihin. Keltaiset taksit taustalla, korkeat rakennukset, valot ja ihmisvilinä.. Ihan tuli ikävä sinne taas näitä katsellessa. Toivottavasti pääsen pian takaisin :).

I just wanted to write a little post to let you know that in the future I will try to write my posts in both English and Finnish. I have two reasons for this.. possibly gaining some new audience from Finland, and also for me to maintain my Finnish :). English will stay as the main language of my blog and my social media accounts, I am an UK based blogger, so wouldn’t make sense for me to change that, and I hope this won’t bother any of my current readers. So here we go.. same (and some more) in Finnish..

Moikka!

Mä olen tätä märehtinyt jo vuoden päivät, että josko bloggaisin myös suomeksi. Ja olen nyt tullut sellaiseen tulokseen, että täytyy kokeilla :). Mimmi mua on painostanut tähän (no ei oikeesti painostanu, vähän vaan vihjaili – Mimmi on ihana <3), ja miksipä en kokeilisi. Mitä te suomalaiset lukijat olette mieltä? Oletteko enemmän kiinnostuneita vierailemaan täällä, jos kirjoitan myös suomeksi?

Ja siis ihan vaan varoituksena, mä olen AINA ollut huono suomen kieliopissa.. pilkut on väärissä paikoissa yms. Ja nyt olen varmasti vielä pahempi, kun olen asunut täällä Lontoossa jo reilut 4 vuotta, ja suomea en hirveästi käytä (paitsi mitä nyt vähän jauhan p***aa suomalaisen työkaverin kanssa ja kukaan ei ymmärrä mitä sanotaan – luksusta :D). Mutta siis joo, antakaa anteeksi jo valmiiks mun tsiljoonat virheet ;).

Do you ever lay on your bed and look around you and wonder how would you live and decorate if you had the space and the money? I know I do, quite often actually!

I used to live alone for 8 years before I moved to London. This was of course back in Finland, where living with flatmates isn’t very common. I lived mostly in small studio flats, but all the decoration choices were my own. Of course for most of that time I was a student, and I couldn’t afford many nice things.. But some I did. And I left those nice black and white bookshelves, DVD towers and chest of drawers with my parents when I moved to London. Please don’t think that this post is about complaining, it’s not, I’m just telling how it was for me there. Here in London.. Well, I like my life here, and I’ve had great flatmates, but laying in my bed in this small room makes me dream about how things could be. And if I can’t have a whole flat, maybe I can just dream about what kind of bedroom I’d have if I had the space and the money :)?

When it comes to my fashion, I love block colours and adding some pattern in. Or monochrome with pops of bright colour. I’d love to paint my bedroom white, with an accent wall of black with white pattern, or an accent wall of bright colour (ah, would love lime green). I’d get a walk-in wardrobe with loads of racks for clothes and places for shoes too. Then I would buy all the shoes from Evans (Have you seen the new AW13 shoes there? Amaze!) and all the clothes from Junarose (Yes, I could easily take everything!) and fill the place with them. I’d have black and white across all the furniture and linen, and white blinds on the windows, like you can see here at Hillarys (second image). And a few photoframes on the wall and my dresser. I’d keep it stylish and roomy, which would be a total opposite of my cluttery room with too much stuff in it. But hey, a girl can always dream, right? ;)

Like most of you surely know, Plus North was held this past weekend. It was lovely seeing a huge room full of plus-size women embrace who they are and enjoying themselves and fashion. The event was amazingly organised by Becky and Toni, so huge thank you to them :)! I was feeling a bit down as I was ill on Thursday and Friday, but it was really lovely to see some of my fave blogger babes again, and of course to talk to some brands, old and new :).

So, here’s the outfit I wore during the day-event. I went for comfort, but wanted to feel cute as well.. and this dress never fails me in that department. It was odd to pose in front of something so huge that I had designed myself (the stands), but of course I had to take my outfit pics in front of them ;)
