I wore this gorgeous maxi dress from Yours Clothing when Mimmi and I went to the pub on her last evening in London. I LOVE my maxis to be long, and this dress certainly delivers. I wore it with my old, thrifted ankle boots that have a small heel, and the dress was still floor length: perfect :). I really think this dress will be one of my go to items this coming summer.

Because of dual sizing I took the 26-28 (I would normally be 24-26), and I think it was a good decision to get the extra length to it. If you prefer your maxis shorter than this, I would go for your normal size or one down :).

This post is also the first one where you can see my new hair really properly. I really like it, it has brought certain freshness and playfulness to my *boring* life ;). I also didn’t even realise that my hair had gotten so long.. hence the double meaning in the title of this post, haha.

Puin päälleni tämän ihanan maxi mekon Yours Clothing:ilta, kun mentiin viettämään Mimmin viimeistä Lontoo-iltaa pubin puolelle. Rakastan pitkiä maxi-helmoja, ja tämä mekko onneksi täyttää tuon vaatimuksen. Jalassani on vanhat, kirppikseltä löytyneet nilkkurit, ja vaikka niissä on pieni korko, niin mekon helma on silti maassa: täydellistä :). Mulla on sellainen fiilis, että tulen käyttämään tätä mekkoa paljonkin nyt tulevan kesän aikana.

Koska Yours käyttää ‘kaksois-kokoja’, niin otin UK koon 26-28 (olisin normaalisti 24-26), ja koska halusin pitkän mekon, niin päätös oli kyllä oikea. Jos sua kiinnostaa tämä mekko, mutta et halua samaa pituutta, niin ottaisin normaalin koon tai kokoa pienemmän :).

Tässä postauksessa näkyy myös tämä mun uusi tukka kunnolla. Tykkään siitä kyllä ihan hirmuisesti, se on tuonut enemmän leikittely-fiilistä mun *tylsään* elämään ;). Ja siis en ollut edes tajunnut miten pitkät mun hiukset nyt onkaan, jotenkin kuvissa sen huomaa paremmin!

Us plus-size girls need to do a lot of online shopping to find cute clothes, but what if you can combine this with actual shopping? Well, at Westfield London (Shepherd’s Bush) you can. You can order clothes from online retailers like ASOS and Very, and get them delivered to Westfield’s Collect+ lounge. First you can go shopping in the physical shops like Evans and New Look, and then go to the Collect+ lounge and try on the stuff that you ordered in their spacious changing rooms. If you want to keep them, you’re done, and if you want to return, you can do it with the help of the staff at the lounge. You can find all the info on how to order there in this link.

Last week myself and a few other bloggers got a chance to go and test the service ourselves. Before we went to the lounge we got lovely hand massages at Jo Malone, and the day started well with some nice pampering :).

I had ordered two dresses and a skirt from ASOS, and was excited to try them on. It was nice to have the other girls there for instant feedback as well. I loved my choices, and you will definitely see them here at the blog later (styled better than above may I add, haha). I loved using the Collect+ lounge, as it makes the whole trying on and possible returning process so much easier when it can be combined with a regular shopping trip. Really great idea indeed!

I’m completely obsessed with bomber jackets (and I’m sure this isn’t news to you if you have followed me for a while), and when Pink Clove asked if I wanted to review something I chose this black bomber. I have worn it a lot already, as unlike my printed bombers, it goes with everything! It’s true to size, stretchy material, and has a really cool texture in the fabric (which you can see in the close-up photo below). I can definitely recommend this bomber if you are looking for something to wear instead of a black cardigan, or if you are like me and just love all the bombers ;)!

Olen täysin seonnut bomber-takeista (ja jos olet seurannut blogiani jo jonkin aikaa, niin tämä ei ole sulle yllätys), ja kun Pink Clove:lta ottivat yhteyttä ja kysyivät haluaisinko valita jonkun vaatteen sieltä, niin yllättäen päädyin tähän mustaan bomberiin. Se on ollut käytössä jo aika paljon, sillä toisin kuin printilliset bomberini, tämä käy kaiken kanssa! Kooltaan se tuntuu olevan oikea, että jos ostat, niin ota yleinen kokosi. Materiaali on joustavaa, ja siinä on tuollaista kivaa ‘kuviota’, joka näkyy yksityiskohta-kuvassa yllä. Jos olet etsimässä korviketta mustalle villatakille, tai olet muuten vaan bomberi-hullu kuten minä, niin ehdottomasti suosittelen tätä :).

As I sit here in the park in this gorgeous summery weather, I feel that it is kind of silly to post this outfit from a week ago. I’m seriously boiling even looking at it, haha. But well, I’m going to post it anyway. I love this basic 90′s style dress that I got from Isha for my birthday, it looks so lovely with denim. And as I can’t wear it with this jacket anymore (Mimmi might have “stolen” it from me and taken it to Finland), I will surely wear it with my denim vests this summer! The otherwise sportier look was needed, as I went to the gym with my physio group later.. So kind of a mix and match outfit of basic stuff – with my trusty holographic clutch obviously :).

Istun tällä hetkellä kuumassa ja aurinkoisessa puistossa, ja tämän asun postaaminen tuntuu vähän hullulta. Itseasiassa tulee hiki pelkästään sitä katsoessa, heh. Mutta joo, postaanpa kumminkin. Tykkään tästä ysäri-tyylisestä mekosta, jonka sain synttärilahjaksi Isha:lta, ihan hirveästi, ja se näyttää erityisen hyvältä denimin kanssa. Koska en voi tätä kuvien takkia enää käyttää (Mimmi saattoi “varastaa” sen ja viedä Suomeen), niin tulen varmasti käyttämään sitä tänä kesänä farkkuliivieni kanssa! Muuten sporttisempi asu oli tarpeen, sillä menin myöhemmin kuntosalille fysioterapia-ryhmäni kanssa.. Eli asu on kunnon sekoitus perus-vaatteita – joihin lisänä ihana hologrammi-laukkuni :).

Olen melkein valmis kesään ja aurinkoon.. Multa puuttuu vain aurinkolasit vahvuuksilla! Olen “sokea kuin lepakko”, ja koska en voi käyttää piilareita vakituisesti, niin mun rillit on periaatteessa mun bestiksiä. Valitettavasti mulla ei ole kuin yhdet aurinkolasit vahvuuksilla, ja nekin on yli 6 vuotta vanhat.. Ja näkö on huonontunut sen jälkeen. Onneksi Specspost kuuli huutoni, ja he lähettivät mulle 3 paria kokeiluun, ja tämän jälkeen saan lemppariini sitten vahvuudet. Jee!

And the verdict? I don’t like the first ones on me, they are too small for my face. But the other two… Well, let’s just say that I wish that I could get TWO prescription pairs as I love both SO much! Decision needs to be made though, and my favourite is the second pair, as it is more usable than the hot pink pair. Do you agree? Did I choose the right pair? Ja mikäs on tulos? Noh, ekoista en tykkää yhtään, ne on aivan liian pienet mun päähän. Mutta kummastakin muusta parista tykkään ihan hirveästi! Toivoisin, että saisin kummatkin vahvuuksilla, mutta päätös on tehtävä… Ja valitsen kakkos-lasit, koska ne on kyllä käytännöllisemmät kuin nuo neon pinkit. Oletteko samaa mieltä, oliko oikea valinta? Danie and I hit some press days last Thursday and had a lovely day together. Fashion, drinks, snacks and giggles is always a great combination! I wore this bomber jacket from the new Look Magazine for Simply Be-collection, and it is a perfect addition to my ever-growing bomber collection. I really love the floral print with the neon accents, as monochrome and neon are still going strong in my book. I wore it with my pleated midi skirt from F&F, and a pair of Converse.

ps. How many of you are humming Roxette after reading my title? I apologise :D!

Viime viikon torstaina käytiin Danie:n kanssa parissa pressipäivässä, ja vietettiin oikein kiva päivä yhdessä. Muoti, drinksut, naposteltavat ja hihityskohtaukset on aina hyvä yhdistelmä! Pukeuduin tähän Simply Be:n bomberiin, joka on osa merkin uutta mallistoa, joka on tehty yhteistyössä Look-lehden kanssa (Britannian suosituin muotilehti). Mallisto ei valitettavasti ainakaan vielä ole EU-sivustolla, mutta voitte nähdä sen kokonaisuudessaan täällä. Bomber on täydellinen lisä alati kasvavaan bomber-kokoelmaani. Tykkään kukka-printistä ja sen neon-aksenteista, sillä edelleen musta-valkoinen neon lisillä on lempparini. Yhdistin takkiin midi-mittaisen vekkihameeni ja Converset, ja tietysti kummatkin musta-valkoiset ;).

You know that I love my monochrome nowadays.. I feel like I have been posting loads of outfits like that, but I hope you aren’t bored of them yet ;). Well, at least this one is brightened up with the neon accents, haha!

I have been dreaming of an asymmetric skirt for a while, and I had to snap up this beauty from Simply Be as soon as I saw it. This top was a birthday gift from my dear friend Isha, and it is making me love crop tops even more (although if you buy it, size down several sizes, it is massive).

I’ve had this necklace for over a year now, I got it from an event goodie bag, and I can’t believe this is the first time I’m using it! It brings so much life to this outfit, especially together with this orange lipstick – I love it!

Ilmeisesti musta-valkoisuus on mun juttu nykyään. Ihan huomaamatta haalin tuolta vaateröykkiöstä valkoisia ja mustia vaatteita, ja tuntuu, että olen tässä blogissakin niitä postannut vaikka kuinka paljon jo. Toivottavasti ette ole vielä ihan kyllästyneitä ;). Noh, ainakin tätä asua on piristetty neon-asusteilla, heh!

Olen haaveillut tällaisesta epätasaisesta hameesta jo pitkään, ja kun näin tämän Simply Be:llä, niin se oli pakko napata (valitettavasti se ei näy tuolla EU-sivustolla olevan). Paita taasen on synttärilahja ystävältäni Ishalta, ja se kyllä vaan lisää rakkauttani tähän ‘napapaita’-trendiin (jos sen ostaminen kiinnostaa, niin ottakaa pari kokoa pienempi kuin normaalikokonne.. paita on ihan massiivinen).

Tämä kaulakoru on ollut mulla jo reilun vuoden, sain sen yhden tapahtuman goodie bagissä, ja en ymmärrä miksi en ole sitä tätä ennen käyttänyt! Se tuo iloa ja elämää tähän asuun, varsinkin yhdistettynä tähän oranssiin huulipunaan – rakastan!

This is a subject that is not relevant to my own life at all. I’m a single girl, who rarely even dates to be honest.. But I know that there’s lots of plus-sized girls out there who are in long term relationships, or engaged, and looking for their perfect wedding dress. And I’m sure that some of these girls are my readers, and that’s why I’m doing this introductory post.

Bijou Bridal Wear is a family business that sells stunning plus-sized bridal wear. They have a boutique in Mitcham, London, and you can make an appointment to visit in here. The size range of their dresses is 12-34, and I love what they have to say about ‘Bijou Brides’ – “Our dresses are carefully selected based on their beautiful designs and with you in mind. Our dresses are not about what you ‘should’ wear to hide but rather what you should wear to shine.”

A few weeks ago a few of us bloggers were invited to a Bra Fit event at Debenhams Oxford Street. I’m sure you’ve noticed earlier on the blog that I’m very much a bra fit enthusiast :). Since I first got properly fitted, I try to get fitted again every 6 months to be sure that I’m wearing my right size. And this event came at the right time, as I felt that maybe my size was a bit off again (don’t you just love it that if you gain/lose any weight, it shows in your boobs instantly and messes up your bra size, haha).

First we listened to a talk by ladies from Freya. They talked about bras for fuller busts and showed us some gorgeous Freya-bras that got me drooling. After the talk I got my fitting with the lovely Hannah from Curvy Kate, and like I suspected, my size had changed again. In Curvy Kate bras I was now a 38HH, and in Elomi bras a 40GG. (Yes, no error there, I have always been a different size in those brands.)

I got some bras from the event, and ordered more using the kiosk that they have in the fitting room at Debenhams. It’s a really cool system, if they don’t have your size in store, you can buy them from the kiosk with a credit/debit card or a gift card, and get them delivered to your home address for free.

I had such a great time at the event with my friends, and can certainly recommend the selection and service of the Debenhams lingerie department to any woman!

Parisen viikkoa sitten meitä bloggaajia kutsuttiin Debenhams:in Oxford Streetin tavarataloon tutustumaan heidän alusvaateosastonsa tarjontaan. Sinä iltana osastolla oli ‘bra fit’-tapahtuma, jossa oli paikalla alusvaatemerkkien edustajia kertomassa tuotteistaan, ja myös sovittamassa naisia oikeisiin liivi-kokoihin. Jos olet seuranut blogiani jo jonkin aikaa, niin olet varmaan huomannut mun puhuvan siitä, miten tärkeää on olla oikean koon liiveissä. Siitä lähtien, kun ensimmäisen kerran sain kunnon sovituksen, niin olen käynyt uudelleen puolen vuoden välein. Rintsikoiden koko muuttuu meillä kaikilla helposti pienistä painon nousuista ja laskuista, ja tämän takia puolen vuoden välein sovitusta suositellaan. Itselläni oli juuri tämä puoli vuotta lähestymässä, ja tuntuikin liivit vähän hassulta.. Eli tämä tapahtuma tuli mulle oikeaan aikaan.

Ensimmäiseksi kuunneltiin Freya:n edustajien esitelmä tuotteista suuremmille kuppikoille, jossa he esittelivät ihania, uusia Freya:n malleja. Tämän jälkeen sain sovituksen  Curvy Kate:n Hannahilta, ja niinkuin ajattelinkin, oli kokoni Curvy Kate:ssa muuttunut 85HH:ksi ja Elomi:ssa 90GG:ksi. (Ja kyllä, olen aina ollut eri kokoa näissä merkeissä.)

Tapahtuma oli opettavainen ja mukava, ja shoppailuhan on aina hauskempaa kavereiden kanssa! Suosittelen Debenhams:in alusvaateosastoa lämpimästi, iso valikoima ja hyvä palvelu, eli Lontoon reissuilla kannattaa ehdottomasti käväistä!

One can always rely on IGIGI to bring out the most gorgeous maxi dresses for plus-sized women. The designer Yuliya Raquel definitely knows how to design to flatter our bodies, and she uses stunning prints to do that.

I was recently sent this Christina maxi dress, and this is one of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever put on. I know I used the bad f-word earlier (flattering that is), but seriously, my boobs have never looked so good than they do in this dress :D! I also love the floatiness of the skirt, and that it is long enough for heels. I’m wearing the US size 18/20 (UK 22/24), and it is the perfect fit for my UK 24/26 size – IGIGI items tend to be generous.

This dress will surely be my choice for any big parties this coming summer, as this one needs to be seen!

Jos etsit upeita plussakoon maximekkoja juhlaan, niin IGIGI:in voi aina luottaa. Suunnittelija Yuliya Raquel osaa suunnitella plussavartaloille täydellisesti, sillä mekot nipistää ja ehostaa kurveja juuri oikeista paikoista, ja mekkojen kankaat ja printit ovat aina näyttäviä.

IGIGI lähetti mulle tämän Christina-maxi mekon, ja täytyy myöntää, että tämä on yksi kauneimpia vaatteita joita ylläni on koskaan ollut. Ja siis suoraan sanottuna mun rinnus ei ole koskaan näyttänyt näin hyvältä :D! Hame-osan ‘liehuvuus’ on ihan mun lempparijuttu tässä mekossa, ja tietysti myös se, että mekko on tarpeeksi pitkä koroille. Mulla on päälläni USA-koko 18/20 (EU 50/52), ja se on täydellinen mun 52/54 kropalle – IGIGI:n koot ovat vähän reiluja.

Tämä mekko tulee olemaan valintani tämän kesän juhliin, sillä tämä ansaitsee tulla nähdyksi!
