So people, how do you feel about slogan tees? I’m not a huge fan myself, but when Danish brand Zizzi sent me this campaign tee, I really couldn’t wait to wear it. With all this #YesAllWomen business going on currently (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, please see this link), I feel that this tee suits perfectly. This quote from model Denise Bidot is a great message for us all to remember.. short, tall, fat, skinny, black, white, boyish, girly, etc.. There really is NO wrong way to be a woman, and we all are ok just as we are <3.

Mitäs olette mieltä t-paidoista joissa on joku teksti tai slogan? Itse en paljoa niistä välitä, mutta kun Zizzi lähetti minulle tämän kampanja-paidan, niin en malttanut odottaa sen käyttöönottoa. Tällä hetkellä puhutaan niin paljon syistä miksi tarvitsemme feminismiä ja kuinka yhteiskunta edelleen kohtelee naisia (esimerkkinä Twitterin #YesAllWomen-hashtag, josta enemmän englanniksi täällä), niin tämän t-paidan teksti sopii kyllä tilanteeseen loistavasti. You might remember that I posted about these Hi-Tec Haraka trainers earlier (see the post here). I was sent them by Hi-Tec for a review, and now I have finally had a chance to test them properly.
I had them on for almost two days straight last week. I went for long walks in the park, and also wore them to the gym for my shoulder physiotherapy class. I know that these shoes are meant for running, but that I didn’t test as I don’t really run. What I can tell you though, is that they were perfect for both walking on pavements and in the forest, and I also loved them in the gym environment. They are incredibly light, and it kind of feels like walking on air when wearing them – absolutely great pair of trainers!
Ehkä muistatte, että kirjoitin näistä Hi-Tec Haraka lenkkareista jo aiemmin (postaus täällä). Hi-Tec lähetti nämä mulle testaukseen, ja nyt mulla on vihdoin ollut aikaa käyttää niitä kunnolla.
Pidin niitä viime viikolla lähes kaksi päivää putkeen. Kävin pitkillä kävelylenkeillä, ja mulla oli ne jalassa myös salilla, jossa olin olkapää-kuntoutus ryhmäni kanssa. Tiedän, että nämä lenkkarit on oikeasti juoksuun tarkoitettu, mutta minäpä en juokse, haha. Mutta voin kyllä kertoa, että kävelyyn nämä on aivan loistavat sekä asfaltilla että maastossa, ja tuntuivat hyviltä myös salilla. Nämä on TOSI kevyet, tuntuu kuin pilvissä kävelisi – todella loistavat lenkkarit mielestäni!

These photos were taken a few weeks ago, when Mimmi and I went to a few pressdays and had a lovely day in the city. I’m wearing many of my current favourite items in this outfit, for example I’m sure you are sick of seeing these boots already, haha. I chose the colourful Junarose bomber to wear in an event that I was hosting, but after that I’ve been wearing it a lot. It makes any plainly coloured outfit absolutely pop. And this skirt then.. I LOVE IT. It is a size 18 from ASOS main range, and it will absolutely fit someone up to size 26-28, possibly even bigger (based on the fact that I also own this skirt in another colour and it is size 12 and it fits me fine – you’ll see that here soon as well). Isn’t it great when ASOS has a sizing glitch like this? ;) The material is lovely and sturdy scuba, has big pockets, and in my opinion it is definitely worth its £35 price tag.
How about the pink pops then? My hair, the bomber, my lipstick, my nail polish and my top are all pink or have pink details.. I really like it, and this is one of my favourite outfits in a while :)

Otettiin nämä kuvat pari viikkoa sitten, kun vietettiin Mimmin kanssa kiva päivä kaupungilla, ja käytiin parissa pressipäivässä. Asuun kuuluu monta tämän hetken lemppariani, hyvänä esimerkkinä nämä kengät, joiden näkemiseen olette varmaan jo kyllästyneet, haha. Valitsin tämän värikkään Junarose bomberin osaksi asuani yhteen tapahtumaan jonka emännöin, mutta tapahtuman jälkeen olen käyttänyt sitä tosi paljon. Se todella tekee tavalliset ja tylsät asut näyttävimmiksi. Ja entäs tämä hame sitten… RAKASTAN. Päälläni on UK koko 18 (EU 46) ASOS:in normaalimallistosta, ja se mahtuisi kyllä ainakin EU kokoon 56 asti, jos ei vielä isommillekkin (perustan tämän siihen, että omistan tämän saman hameen eri värissä, ja koossa UK 12 / EU 40 ja se mahtuu mulle ihan hyvin – se tulee myös näkymään täällä blogissa pian). Eikös ole mukavaa, kun firmojen koko-mokat ovat meidän hyväksi? ;) Hameen materiaali on ihanan jämäkkää scubaa, hameessa on isot taskut, ja mielestäni se on kyllä 49€ hintalappunsa arvoinen. Silti kannattaa kytätä aleja ja alekoodeja :)
Entäs nämä pinkit yksityiskohdat sitten? Hiukseni, takki, huulipunani, kynsilakkani ja paitani.. kaikissa on pinkkiä. Tykkään kyllä itse, asu on yksi lemppareistani vähään aikaan :).

A few months ago I was lucky to be asked to model Scarlett & Jo‘s latest collections together with 3 other bloggers and 2 models. Callie, Danie, Georgina and me all chose one dress from the Spring Romance collection and one from the Summer Romance collection to model in the shoot. We got a lovely breakfast, and then had our hair and makeup done. We could choose the styling of our hair and makeup ourselves, and I went for a quite minimal makeup look, and a little quiff and side braid with my hair. I really loved my hair, especially as I wanted to have a hairstyle that I can’t do myself while my shoulder is injured, haha ;). We could also style the looks ourselves, and I went for nude heels and Daisy & Eve jewellery for both looks. I wish I had taken my denim vest with me, as that’s what I would have worn with the Summer Romance look.. but I have all summer to style it like that, and you will see it in here or my social medias for sure. I want to thank Scarlett & Jo for this opportunity, I had a lot of fun, and it is always great to get to hang out with my fellow blogger babes :). Please see below for more photos and links.

Parisen kuukautta sitten onni potkaisi, ja minua kysyttiin malliksi Scarlett & Jo:n viimeisimpiin mallistoihin. Minun lisäkseni malleina olivat 3 muuta plussa-bloggaajaa sekä 2 mallia. Callie, Danie, Georgina ja minä valittiin itsellemme kuvattavaksi yksi mekko Spring Romance-mallistosta ja yksi Summer Romance-mallistosta. Syötiin ihana aamiainen, ja sen jälkeen mentiin vuorotellen meikkiin ja kampaukseen. Me saatiin itse päättää millaiset hiukset ja meikki haluttiin, ja minä valitsin suhteellisen minimaalisen meikin, ja hiuksiin tuollaisen pienen ‘heiton’ ja letin sivulle. Tykkäsin hiuksistani ihan hirveästi, ja erityisesti koska halusin valita tyylin jota en itse pysty tekemään niin kauan kuin olkapääni on kipeänä, heh ;). Saatiin myös itse stailata asumme, ja valitsin kumpaankin asuun nudet korkkarit ja koruja Evansin Daisy & Eve-mallistosta. Harmitti, kun en ollut ottanut farkkuliiviäni mukaan, sillä olisin halunnut sen tuohon Summer Romance-asuuni.. mutta onpa mulla koko kesä aikaa käyttää niitä yhdessä, ja tulette sen varmaan näkemään joko täällä tai sosiaalisissa medioissani. Haluan kiittää Scarlett & Jo:ta tästä mahdollisuudesta, mulla oli tosi kiva päivä, ja on aina kiva hengailla bloggaajaystävieni kanssa :). The Floral Prom Dress that I’m wearing is unfortunately sold out already, but there’s still some random sizes left of Danie’s 2-in-1 Prom Dress. // Oli kiva poseerata yhdessä Danien kanssa :). Mun mekko on valitettavasti jo loppuunmyyty, mutta Danien mekkoa on vielä joissain koissa jäljellä.
Seen someone comment on these that we are like ‘Sex And The City plus-size version’. I kinda love that :D! I wore this gorgeous maxi dress from Yours Clothing when Mimmi and I went to the pub on her last evening in London. I LOVE my maxis to be long, and this dress certainly delivers. I wore it with my old, thrifted ankle boots that have a small heel, and the dress was still floor length: perfect :). I really think this dress will be one of my go to items this coming summer.
Because of dual sizing I took the 26-28 (I would normally be 24-26), and I think it was a good decision to get the extra length to it. If you prefer your maxis shorter than this, I would go for your normal size or one down :).
This post is also the first one where you can see my new hair really properly. I really like it, it has brought certain freshness and playfulness to my *boring* life ;). I also didn’t even realise that my hair had gotten so long.. hence the double meaning in the title of this post, haha.

Puin päälleni tämän ihanan maxi mekon Yours Clothing:ilta, kun mentiin viettämään Mimmin viimeistä Lontoo-iltaa pubin puolelle. Rakastan pitkiä maxi-helmoja, ja tämä mekko onneksi täyttää tuon vaatimuksen. Jalassani on vanhat, kirppikseltä löytyneet nilkkurit, ja vaikka niissä on pieni korko, niin mekon helma on silti maassa: täydellistä :). Mulla on sellainen fiilis, että tulen käyttämään tätä mekkoa paljonkin nyt tulevan kesän aikana.
Koska Yours käyttää ‘kaksois-kokoja’, niin otin UK koon 26-28 (olisin normaalisti 24-26), ja koska halusin pitkän mekon, niin päätös oli kyllä oikea. Jos sua kiinnostaa tämä mekko, mutta et halua samaa pituutta, niin ottaisin normaalin koon tai kokoa pienemmän :).
Tässä postauksessa näkyy myös tämä mun uusi tukka kunnolla. Tykkään siitä kyllä ihan hirmuisesti, se on tuonut enemmän leikittely-fiilistä mun *tylsään* elämään ;). Ja siis en ollut edes tajunnut miten pitkät mun hiukset nyt onkaan, jotenkin kuvissa sen huomaa paremmin!

Us plus-size girls need to do a lot of online shopping to find cute clothes, but what if you can combine this with actual shopping? Well, at Westfield London (Shepherd’s Bush) you can. You can order clothes from online retailers like ASOS and Very, and get them delivered to Westfield’s Collect+ lounge. First you can go shopping in the physical shops like Evans and New Look, and then go to the Collect+ lounge and try on the stuff that you ordered in their spacious changing rooms. If you want to keep them, you’re done, and if you want to return, you can do it with the help of the staff at the lounge. You can find all the info on how to order there in this link.
Last week myself and a few other bloggers got a chance to go and test the service ourselves. Before we went to the lounge we got lovely hand massages at Jo Malone, and the day started well with some nice pampering :).
I had ordered two dresses and a skirt from ASOS, and was excited to try them on. It was nice to have the other girls there for instant feedback as well. I loved my choices, and you will definitely see them here at the blog later (styled better than above may I add, haha). I loved using the Collect+ lounge, as it makes the whole trying on and possible returning process so much easier when it can be combined with a regular shopping trip. Really great idea indeed!

I’m completely obsessed with bomber jackets (and I’m sure this isn’t news to you if you have followed me for a while), and when Pink Clove asked if I wanted to review something I chose this black bomber. I have worn it a lot already, as unlike my printed bombers, it goes with everything! It’s true to size, stretchy material, and has a really cool texture in the fabric (which you can see in the close-up photo below). I can definitely recommend this bomber if you are looking for something to wear instead of a black cardigan, or if you are like me and just love all the bombers ;)!

Olen täysin seonnut bomber-takeista (ja jos olet seurannut blogiani jo jonkin aikaa, niin tämä ei ole sulle yllätys), ja kun Pink Clove:lta ottivat yhteyttä ja kysyivät haluaisinko valita jonkun vaatteen sieltä, niin yllättäen päädyin tähän mustaan bomberiin. Se on ollut käytössä jo aika paljon, sillä toisin kuin printilliset bomberini, tämä käy kaiken kanssa! Kooltaan se tuntuu olevan oikea, että jos ostat, niin ota yleinen kokosi. Materiaali on joustavaa, ja siinä on tuollaista kivaa ‘kuviota’, joka näkyy yksityiskohta-kuvassa yllä. Jos olet etsimässä korviketta mustalle villatakille, tai olet muuten vaan bomberi-hullu kuten minä, niin ehdottomasti suosittelen tätä :).

As I sit here in the park in this gorgeous summery weather, I feel that it is kind of silly to post this outfit from a week ago. I’m seriously boiling even looking at it, haha. But well, I’m going to post it anyway. I love this basic 90′s style dress that I got from Isha for my birthday, it looks so lovely with denim. And as I can’t wear it with this jacket anymore (Mimmi might have “stolen” it from me and taken it to Finland), I will surely wear it with my denim vests this summer! The otherwise sportier look was needed, as I went to the gym with my physio group later.. So kind of a mix and match outfit of basic stuff – with my trusty holographic clutch obviously :).

Istun tällä hetkellä kuumassa ja aurinkoisessa puistossa, ja tämän asun postaaminen tuntuu vähän hullulta. Itseasiassa tulee hiki pelkästään sitä katsoessa, heh. Mutta joo, postaanpa kumminkin. Tykkään tästä ysäri-tyylisestä mekosta, jonka sain synttärilahjaksi Isha:lta, ihan hirveästi, ja se näyttää erityisen hyvältä denimin kanssa. Koska en voi tätä kuvien takkia enää käyttää (Mimmi saattoi “varastaa” sen ja viedä Suomeen), niin tulen varmasti käyttämään sitä tänä kesänä farkkuliivieni kanssa! Muuten sporttisempi asu oli tarpeen, sillä menin myöhemmin kuntosalille fysioterapia-ryhmäni kanssa.. Eli asu on kunnon sekoitus perus-vaatteita – joihin lisänä ihana hologrammi-laukkuni :).

Olen melkein valmis kesään ja aurinkoon.. Multa puuttuu vain aurinkolasit vahvuuksilla! Olen “sokea kuin lepakko”, ja koska en voi käyttää piilareita vakituisesti, niin mun rillit on periaatteessa mun bestiksiä. Valitettavasti mulla ei ole kuin yhdet aurinkolasit vahvuuksilla, ja nekin on yli 6 vuotta vanhat.. Ja näkö on huonontunut sen jälkeen. Onneksi Specspost kuuli huutoni, ja he lähettivät mulle 3 paria kokeiluun, ja tämän jälkeen saan lemppariini sitten vahvuudet. Jee!

And the verdict? I don’t like the first ones on me, they are too small for my face. But the other two… Well, let’s just say that I wish that I could get TWO prescription pairs as I love both SO much! Decision needs to be made though, and my favourite is the second pair, as it is more usable than the hot pink pair. Do you agree? Did I choose the right pair? Ja mikäs on tulos? Noh, ekoista en tykkää yhtään, ne on aivan liian pienet mun päähän. Mutta kummastakin muusta parista tykkään ihan hirveästi! Toivoisin, että saisin kummatkin vahvuuksilla, mutta päätös on tehtävä… Ja valitsen kakkos-lasit, koska ne on kyllä käytännöllisemmät kuin nuo neon pinkit. Oletteko samaa mieltä, oliko oikea valinta? Danie and I hit some press days last Thursday and had a lovely day together. Fashion, drinks, snacks and giggles is always a great combination! I wore this bomber jacket from the new Look Magazine for Simply Be-collection, and it is a perfect addition to my ever-growing bomber collection. I really love the floral print with the neon accents, as monochrome and neon are still going strong in my book. I wore it with my pleated midi skirt from F&F, and a pair of Converse.
ps. How many of you are humming Roxette after reading my title? I apologise :D!

Viime viikon torstaina käytiin Danie:n kanssa parissa pressipäivässä, ja vietettiin oikein kiva päivä yhdessä. Muoti, drinksut, naposteltavat ja hihityskohtaukset on aina hyvä yhdistelmä! Pukeuduin tähän Simply Be:n bomberiin, joka on osa merkin uutta mallistoa, joka on tehty yhteistyössä Look-lehden kanssa (Britannian suosituin muotilehti). Mallisto ei valitettavasti ainakaan vielä ole EU-sivustolla, mutta voitte nähdä sen kokonaisuudessaan täällä. Bomber on täydellinen lisä alati kasvavaan bomber-kokoelmaani. Tykkään kukka-printistä ja sen neon-aksenteista, sillä edelleen musta-valkoinen neon lisillä on lempparini. Yhdistin takkiin midi-mittaisen vekkihameeni ja Converset, ja tietysti kummatkin musta-valkoiset ;).
