It is Sunday and it’s time for Double Vision again! In this challenge my amazing friend Dani and I are choosing a theme, item, movie character.. whatever we come up with basically, and style those our own way and post at the same time, more about the challenge here. This week’s theme was chosen by Dani, and she chose ‘Something new, something old’.

As I have old brown shoes and accessories that I LOVE, I wanted to wear them with something new. Now this ASOS Curve dress is just amazing. I had seen pictures of it, seen other bloggers talk about it, lusted after it.. but I didn’t order because of two reasons: the price, and the fact that I was sure that it wouldn’t work with my apple-shape. Then I saw it was part of ASOS 50% off 50 items Bank Holiday promotion, which meant the pricetag was only £30, and I decided to take the plunge. And you know what, I’m so happy I did! I was right that it looks wrong on my bodyshape.. I sized up to 26 to ensure that my belly would fit in the fitted shape, and that meant the dress was way too long and the waist was way too low and looked ‘interesting’. BUT when I added a belt and got the extra fabric from the length as a ‘bubble’ over the belt the look of the dress totally changed. I absolutely adore this dress, and I’m sure in some of my FFFW photos you will see a dressed up version of it. In this post I dressed it down with these old accessories, and I realised how versatile this dress is. And once again I was proved wrong.. I think almost anything could work for any body shape, you just need to find ways to make it work. In this case adding a belt changed everything.

The dress isn’t the only new thing in this post either.. I got two new pairs of glasses from Select Specs a few weeks ago. It’s the same frame that I have gotten from then before in matte black, but in two new colours.. tortoiseshell and shiny black. I love this shape, and the brown tones of this frame makes my face look ‘softer’ somehow. I can’t believe that I paid only £10 a pair for these!

How are you liking the spring so far? I’m weirded out by the hot this day, freezing the next -weather myself, but hopefully it will get solidly warmer soooooon :). I wore a lot of maxi dresses this week, like you saw if you follow me on Instagram, but I also wore this outfit. I got this old New Look Inspire tee from a charity shop last year, and I think it’s a cute retro tee. I could use some help from the California cupids myself, haha ;D

I was contacted by Most Wanted (the lifestyle magazine for VoucherCodes.co.uk) last week, they asked if I’d like to take part in their latest challenge ‘How to Wear’. Of course I said yes, and I was asked to show 3 looks for one of the SS13 trends they had listed: Modern 60′s. I was given a budget of £80 and I could spend it in any high street/online store.

When I thought of 60′s fashion and what is also available now, I immediately thought of swing dresses and block heeled shoes – and those were what I wanted to base my outfits on. I had seen some amazing swing dresses at ASOS Curve, so that’s where I decided to go with my budget. I bought 2 swing dresses, and since I still had some money left, I also bought a cute beanie that matched the colour of my block heeled shoes.

I didn’t want to be too restricted with the whole ’60′s’ thing, and I went looking through my wardrobe to see items I could pair the dresses with. In my opinion the whole ‘modern’ part of this theme is how to make 60′s inspired items work in today’s fashion. So, want to see the looks I came up with?

Look 1. In this look I wore this black swing dress with orange wedges and denim jacket for a casual and girly look.

Look 2. This was the most 60′s look out of all three, mainly because of my block heel shoes and this short, grey swing dress.

Look 3. Ok, this one I just went for cute and crazy. I also LOVE the fact that I have come a ‘full circle’ since I started blogging… and by that I mean that when I first started blogging I wanted to wear bright colours and figure-hugging dresses – I wanted to make it clear that fat women can wear other stuff than big, black sacks. And here I am, wearing a big, black sack, but loving it! I adore this dress :)!

Sorry for the lack of updates.. I have about zillion posts in the pipeline, but I have been far too busy at work this week to get anything done. Can’t wait for Christmas and going to Finland to see my family and relax <3!

I have been featured on a few other sites though, which I’m excited about! This top is one of my top sale finds this year though, I love the colour and sheerness!

I have had this outfit in my head for ages. I basically paired the top and the skirt when I got the top from Dorothy Perkins sale a few months ago, but it got its last details when I saw these awesome Shoeture boomboxes at one pressday. The PRs kindly borrowed these to me for a post, and I added the beanie to my look to bring it more towards ‘street’ ;). I don’t know how ‘cool’ or ‘street’ I actually can look, haha, but I love playing with different styles and not be stuck in one particular way of dressing. That works perfectly for some people, but I personally like to shake things up – at least a bit :).

The Autumn has definitely come to London. It’s dark when I leave the house in the morning and it’s dark when I come back in the evening. I got these from Avenue when I went to New York in March, they were on sale for like $15, so obviously I had to get them! And this coat then.. OH MY GOOOOOD. My flatmate found this gem from a thrift store… Genuine leather Anna Scholz White Label coat. FOR £35! I just love finds like that, and I love my flatmate for always looking for things for me too <3!
