It’s time for Fatshion Faceoff again! If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). This week’s theme was chosen by me, and she I chose ‘British Heritage’.

Maybe it’s weird that a Finnish person chooses British Heritage as a theme, but I do love tartan, tweed, earthy colours.. which are all included in the trend. So, I’m wearing this gorgeous coat which I was kindly gifted to me by Marisota after I fell in love with it at their AW13 press event. I teamed it up with this tartan skater skirt from Simply Be, which reminds me of kilts too – LOVE this! The last ‘British’ part are the Evans chelsea boots from last winter. So how did I do? Do you like my take on the trend?

Nyt olis jälleen Fatshion Faceoffin aika. Jos et ole vielä tietoinen tästä ‘projektista’ jota teen 4 muun plussa-bloggaajan kanssa, niin lisätietoa (englanniksi) löytyy täältä. Tämän viikon teemaksi minä valitsin ‘Brittiläisen perinteen’. 

On ehkä kummallista, että mä suomalaisena valitsin tämän teeman, mutta rakastan tartania/skottiruutua, tweediä, maanläheisiä värejä.. jotka kaikki on osa tätä trendiä. Asuuni valitsin tämän ihanan takin, jonka Marisota lähetti mulle kun näkivät miten rakastuin siihen pressipäivillä. Lisäksi valitsin tämän hetken lempi-hameeni, kilttimäisen Simply Be-hameen (jota valitettavasti ei ole heidän Euro-kaupassaan – sorry). Viimeinen brittiläinen osa asuani on Evansin chelsea-saappaat viime talvelta. Mitäs olette mieltä? Tykkäättekö miten pukeuduin tähän trendiin?

My favourite event I attended at Full Figured Fashion Week was the Indie designers runway show. It was amazing to see the diversity in the industry, and funnily enough my favourites were Rue 114 and Live Unlimited – which were the most daring and most classic out of them all :)! Sadly my photos didn’t turn out very well, but please see Dani’s post for nice detailed photos.

I wore a gorgeous dress that I got from Marisota, I love the vibrant coral colour and the lace detailing, it is definitely one of my favourite dresses. I teamed it up with my nude/neon yellow heels from Lane Bryant and some gold jewellery.

After the runway Dani and I went for dinner and drinks with Lucy and Angela from Scarlett&Jo. It was lovely to chat with them and hear things about plus-size fashion from a brand’s point of view. That day was definitely my favourite day in NYC :).

I was invited to a pampering event hosted by Marisota a while ago, and it was a quick decision for me to RSVP yes. I mean, I could have a peek into their fab summer collection, AND also get a pedicure – winning formula ;)!

When I first walked in I was greeted by the Marisota ladies and the PRs, and offered a drink of course. Then I sat down for a lovely pedicure and got my toenails painted with gorgeous coral polish. (That sadly is faded and gone already.. I miss it!)

And then it was time for the clothes! There was a lot of amazing stuff on show, and I snapped pics of my favourites. (And my photos will pretty much show you that coral tones were really eye-catching and almost all of my faves were that colour.. ;) oops!)

This tassled swimsuit was gorgeous – want!

Couldn’t find this supercute top from the site yet, but I hope it is coming soon! Would love to wear this with denim shorts.

And then my absolute favourite – coral, lacy dress. I love the colour so much, and the pattern of the lace is beautiful, and the fishtail at the back brings something different to it all. I was lucky to get this gorgeous dress for my trip to New York and Full Figured Fashion Week, so expect to see an outfit post featuring the dress soon :).

Amazing, right? I had a lovely time at the event, thanks so much for having me Marisota :). And very much looking forward to wearing this dress!
