OOTD: Sparkly copycat

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi my lovely readers,

Ok, confession.. I’m a total copycat, hence the name for this post. After seeing this awesome outfit by Dani, I wanted to do a similar one myself. But copying is really flattery, right, so don’t be mad at me Dani ;).

So sparkly leggings, chunky knit, Converse.. check, check, check. And let’s add a moustache necklace too, since it’s Movember after all!

Jumper: XXL, Old Navy (similar at Simply Be) | Tank top (just seen): 18, New Look (similar at Old Navy) | Sequin leggings: 24, ASOS Curve | Converse High tops | Chunky scarf: H&M (similar at Topshop) | Moustache necklace: eBay (similar by Tatty Devine) | Glasses: LensWay (similar at Select Specs)

I love how the sequins look with VERY casual outfit.. can’t wait to try similar with my sequin jacket :). Do you like to add sparkle to your more relaxed looks?

Summery OOTD & Select Specs review

Tags: , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello my lovely readers,

Sorry I have been absent lately, my mom was visiting me and I was happily spending time with her and enjoying the amazing weather :). (And like you can see from these pics, I obviously burnt myself a bit, haha.)

A while ago I was offered a chance to review prescription glasses from Select Specs. Obviously I jumped at the chance, cos a girl can never have too many glasses ;). Select Specs do prescription glasses in different price categories, they have value, economy, bronze. silver, gold and platinum collections, and the prices vary from £6 to over £125. (Or if you’re American they vary from $12 to over $202.) And YES, that cheapest price does include the prescription!!! I went for this transparent frame from the value collection, and I really like it! I had a transparent pair years back, and I was so sad when I broke them.. so this is my replacement pair :). They’re perfectly made for my prescription, and really the only ‘bad’ thing I can think of is the time of shipping.. but really, for a starting price of £10 (including shipping) who cares if it takes a bit longer?!? I know I don’t!

Glasses: Select Specs ⎢ Dress: XL, Old Navy via eBay ⎢ Bag: Primark ⎢ Shoes: H&M (still available in stores, similar online) ⎢ Headband: Forever 21 (similar) ⎢ Lippy: Accessorize, Coral Crush With Love

I definitely recommend Select Specs to anyone who wears prescription glasses, you can get a lot of variety to your outfits if you have spare pairs. And with these prices I will become quite a glasses hoarder for sure!

These glasses were gifted to me by Select Specs for a review, but my comments and opinions are entirely my own.

Fatshion Faceoff: Fascinator

Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Hello! Once again it’s Wednesday and it’s Fatshion Faceoff time!! Fatshion Faceoff is a weekly challenge that I do with 5 other fatshion bloggers from around the world, in the challenge we choose a similar item of clothing and we all style it in our own way. This week’s challenge was chosen by Olivia, and she chose a fascinator.

OK, as a Finnish person I have to admit that I had never even heard that word, so when Olivia sent her message I had a friend visiting me and she didn’t know that either. She hit google and we were both like ‘aaaaaaaaaaaaa, those’ :D. And of course I have NEVER owned one, or wore one. I did some eBay searching and found a cheap one that looked cool, so that’s what I ordered ;). I think it suits me actually, maybe one day I’ll go to a party where I can wear it!

I chose to wear the fascinator with this amazing H&M+ dress. I got it from my flatmate for my birthday and I absolutely love it. It is soft, very comfy, and I think it gives me a great shape. I feel totally sexy in it! (There seems to be XL’s left of the dress, mine is L.. if you’re slightly bigger than me, I definitely recommend getting it!!!)  I also wore my trusty old H&M heels, and a vintage bag that used to belong to my godmother.

Random note: My hair colour looks amazing in this light! I wish it would always look like this :D!

Fascinator: eBay | Dress: L (18-20), H&M+ | Bag: vintage (similar) | Shoes: H&M (similar) | Glasses: LensWay

Now go and see how the other Fatshion Faceoff ladies styled their fascinators!
Dani: DIY Fatshion
Mhairi: Lilybobombs Lovely Lumps (her post will be late this week)
Molly: Molly Pocket
Mouna: Brussels Fatshion
Olivia: Wait Until The Sunset

Two OOTN’s: Plus London Two and Saturday week after it

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

There is so many awesome posts about Plus London Two evening event (tons of links at the event site), that I decided not to add my own proper one. I even left early cos I had to go to work on Sunday. I just want to say that it was really lovely to meet all the ladies, and BIG thank you to Claire for organising the amazing event :)!

I wanted to share the outfit of that evening with you anyway, and you have already had a peek in the new layout, since those pics were taken at the event by the amazing Diana.

Dress: 2X, Faith 21, bought from Ali (similar)  Shirt: 14, Primark (similar)  Belt: XL, Dorothy Perkins  Bag: Accessorize (similar)  Leggings: 16/18, Primark  Booties: 6, Evans (similar)  Necklace: borrowed from flatmate  Scarf: Accessorize (similar)  Cape: Ann Harvey

I really liked this outfit, and I was happy to finally have an occasion to use that bag :)! Only thing I would have changed was the booties, black ‘fancier’ heels would have looked better, but since it was snowing I didn’t want to risk it. And I think these work anyway, because of the brown in the belt.

Then yesterday’s OOTN… I went out for dinner with my flatmate and we wanted to wear something a bit fancier. I decided to build the outfit around the teal lacy top I got from Primark this week (see previous post). Teamed it up with black ponte skirt, cropped black blazer, teal skinny belt, black leggings, black high heel booties and red lippy. (Excuse me for the weird pose in the second pic, I wanted you to see the heel, haha.)

Top: 20, Primark (similar)  Skirt: 20, Primark (similar)  Belt: ASOS Curve (similar)  Blazer: 2, Torrid, swapped with Dani (as similar as I could find)  Leggings: XXXL, eBay  Booties: 5, Evans (similar)  Glasses: LensWay and the pretty painting is by Purple Snow

What do you think of my going out-looks? What are your go-to items for going out during winter?

My sickness leave is over and tomorrow I need to go back to work. My shoulder still hurts, but the doctor told me to wait for 2 weeks before going back. Oh well. Hopefully work isn’t a nightmare next week! Now I will use the rest of this evening for surfing my fave blogs, always a nice way to spend an evening :)

Have a good coming week!  xx
