Fatshion Faceoff: Peplum dress

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello my lovelies,

Once again it’s Wednesday, and I’m sure you know it’s Fatshion Faceoff time! If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). This week’s item was chosen by Mouna, and she chose a peplum dress.

This post is bringing something new to the blog… AND I’m trying something that I have been scared about. Peplums have been on trend for ages now, probably the whole time that I have had this blog, yet I didn’t have any peplum items in my wardrobe. I’m usually always wearing what I want, whether that is ‘flattering’ or not, but somehow I thought that peplums would be the most unflattering thing that I could put on. So, while Mouna and I were shopping in NYC we spotted this classic black peplum dress, and since it was a bargain Mouna said I needed to buy it. And here you have it.. me in a peplum dress :). I actually love the top part of this dress, just wishing that the skirt would be a bit longer and bit less tight – maybe I just need to get my ass a size smaller, haha ;).

Dress: 3X, Forever 21+ (still available at US site, similar at New Look Inspire)| Bag: unknown – thrifted (zebra print bags at Very & Debenhams) | Heels: New Look (similar coloured at Evans) | Bracelets: Evans, Ashley Stewart | Glasses: Select Specs | Lippy: Maybelline Color Sensational in Pleasure Me Red

I have been waiting for a chance to show you this awesome zebra print bag! I absolutely adore it, and I picked it up unused and totally free at VoucherCodes.co.uk Most Wanted SwapShop a few months ago (ha, I’m actually in one of the pics on that link.. I didn’t even realise before). I actually think I need to start wearing more plain coloured outfits, that way I can wear this bag more too!

Anyway, I ended up liking my first attempt in wearing peplum, and you might see some in the future too. (Just when everyone’s all tired of peplums, right? Haha.) Now let’s go and see what kind of peplum dresses the other girls are rocking..

Fatshion Faceoff: Band t-shirt

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi lovelies,

Once again it’s Wednesday, and I’m sure you know it’s Fatshion Faceoff time! If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). This week’s challenge item was chosen by Mouna, and she chose a slogan/band/movie/etc t-shirt.

Ok, confession time… I have a ‘dark past’ with boybands.. been a fan since 1988 or so, starting from NKOTB, then to East 17 and Take That, then to Backstreet Boys, ‘NSync and Westlife, and then back to Take That ;D. So when I saw this crop top for £3 in Primark I HAD TO buy it for this challenge (it might become only a night shirt after this though). But hey, it’s kinda cute, and Robbie is between my boobs.. which can never be a bad thing, haha ;). The boots are also a total bargain from Primark, they were reduced to £6, and I couldn’t leave the store without them!

But what about this skirt then.. SERIOUSLY?!? I ordered it when it was on sale at ASOS, only because I was so curious about it. I thought that it was totally amazing when it first came to the site, but I was SURE that it would only work for plus size girls with long legs and lower waist than me. But what a surprise I got when I put it on!!! I think it really works, or what do you think ladies? Another proof that you should always try things on cos you never know how they’ll look like and you might be positively surprised.

Top: 20, Primark (similar with a cross at New Look) | Skirt: 24, ASOS Curve | Boots: Primark (similar in black by ALDO) | Headband: New Look (similar at Forever 21) | Glasses: LensWay (similar at Select Specs)

Are you a fan of any band or movie etc? Do you wear their t-shirts? Do you think they can be fashionable?

Now let’s go see who/what the other Fatshion Faceoff girls are wearing…

Ways to Wear Challenge: LBD

Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Hi my lovelies,

This is the first post of a new challenge that I’m taking part in. The lovely Gemma of Big Girls Browse started Ways to Wear challenge, that any blogger can take part of. (Please see more in this Gemma’s post.)

The first monthly challenge is a Little Black Dress. Now, I have *counts* at least 5 dresses that fall into this category, and I have posted all of them here before, 3 of them quite recently (sequins, bodycon and lace).. so I had a bit of a dilemma. I decided to go with the dress I modeled at Plus North, since I never did a proper outfit post of it. This dress is absolutely lovely, the PU-detail is gorgeous, and I think this is a dress that would look amazing on anyone!

I decided to team it up with nude heels, minimal make-up (light pink lipstick & mascara) and effortless hair, only that I could bring some roughness to it with the spiked bracelet and clutch. So a classic look with some edgy twists, I hope ;)

Dress*: 22, Simply Be (similar without the PU panel) | Heels: Primark (similar at New Look, similar at Zappos – US) | Clutch*: Next (similar at Top Shop) | Bracelet: Forever 21 – gift from Dani (similar at Boutine, similar in silver at Oasap) | Lippy: Natural Collection Moisture Shine in Pink Mallow – available in Boots (similar by MAC)

Do you have many LBD’s in your closet? Do you wear them often? Oh, and if you are a blogger, you should take part in this challenge too, would be great to see many different looks :)!

OOTD: Cosy sparkle

Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Hello my lovelies,

So, I went on a HUGE shopping spree at Evans Marble Arch store yesterday. The deputy manager Gagan and her staff were absolutely amazing and patient, and helped me a lot. I wanted to share a few of my buys with you on this post, since I finally found some comfy jeans! I know I have posted a few pairs before, from H&M, and I didn’t even care about the fit that much since they were such sale bargains.. But actually the ones at Evans were so great on my shape, than I ended up buying 3 pairs (and no, they weren’t on sale either – so that tells something)!!

I also got 3 pairs of boots, and some awesome jewellery too. So in this outfit I’m combining the Evans baroque print jeans. banana heel shoeboots and statement ring with this see-through knit from Primark (I love this, I need it in all the colours!) and black sequin blazer from Matalan (yes, I had to get the black one too, haha). I really like the combination of cosy items with the sparkly ones, and the grey and black colour palette.

Sequin blazer: 20, Matalan (similar by Lovedrobe) | Knit top: 20, Primark (similar at Dorothy Perkins) | Grey baroque print jeans: 22, Evans | Shoe boots: Evans | Bra: Daily Boost by Curvy Kate (get from Very) | Ring: Evans | Glasses: LensWay (similar at Select Specs)

I am in love with these jeans, and so happy that I found them! If you are interested in these jeans and are similar shape than me, I’d advice you to size down (if you don’t have a chance to go to Evans and try them on). Previously I have been 24-26 in trousers/jeans (and the lovely 28 at H&M obviously, haha), but in these I’m 22! Have you made any jeans discoveries lately?
