Fatshion Faceoff: Thrifted bag

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello lovelies,

Once again it’s Wednesday, and I’m sure you know it’s Fatshion Faceoff time! If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). This week’s item was chosen by Dani, and she chose a vintage/thrifted bag.

I have quite a few of thrifted bags, around 10 or something, but I decided to go with this brown satchel. It’s originally from Primark, so I imagine that the original price wasn’t much more than the £5 that I paid for it in a charity shop, but I liked it a lot and had to take it :)!

And this dress then.. isn’t it lovely?! I actually won it from Lovedrobe when they held a competition on Twitter, whooo! I asked for a size 24, since I’ve read reviews that KOKO items are not very generous.. but this one is, I could have easily taken a 22, or maybe even 20. But well, this is not stopping me and I can hide the excess fabric under a belt like I did in this post ;)

OOTD: Pretty army

Hello my lovelies,

Sorry I’ve been quiet in social media lately.. I am STILL ill, actually today I got prescribed some killer antibiotics (since first ones didn’t work) and the whole week off work. My mom is coming to London Wednesday evening, so I hope I will be lots better by then..

Anyway, thankfully I had this exciting post waiting in my drafts, so I can give you a new OOTD (while wearing woollen socks and being covered in duvets). So, a while ago I got a chance to organise a 4 blogger challenge for Simply Be. I asked the beauties Amy, Naomi and Sian to do the challenge with me, and we all got to style this amazing military jacket.

I think this jacket could be styled zillion ways, and this time I went with monochrome with bits of gold. The ASOS Curve dress I wore is quite fancy, so it’s nicely dressed down with this jacket. I have lots of other outfits planned in my head though, so you will surely see this jacket more here and on my Instagram.

I adore this jacket, and want to thank Simply Be for giving us a chance to do this challenge :). Can’t wait to see how the others styled it? Me neither – let’s go see!

OOTD: Punky princess

Hello lovelies,

I revealed in this post that I am in a shopping ban, but that I have made one purchase – and now it’s time to show it to you. I can’t seem to shake this illness off, but thankfully I had prepared for this post a while ago, and had the photos ready :).

But let me tell you something first.. I was always a tomboy as a kid, and a teen, and a young adult, and a not so young adult.. haha. Basically I’ve only started to embrace all things girly during the past few years, and lately I have been dying to get my hands on a tulle skirt – which is basically the last thing that the young me would have worn ;). I spotted Cassiefairy on Twitter, I guess someone re-tweeted her or something, and I decided to contact her and ask if she makes custom made tulle skirts. She answered yes, which made me totally happy! I explained to her what kind of a skirt I wanted, she was really helpful with answering questions about fabrics and colours, and about a week later I got my skirt. I absolutely love it, and I am already planning to get another one – different colour and slightly different shape though – this girl needs more tutus :)!

I’m sure that you will see a more girly look for this skirt at some later point, but for this outfit I decided to ‘punk’ it up a bit with biker boots and jacket, and with my spikey pearl necklace.

Skirt: custom made by Cassiefairy | Jacket: 20, Primark (similar at Simply Be, similar at ASOS Curve, similar at New Look Inspire, similar at Forever 21+) | Dress (worn as a top): 20, New Look Inspire (similar at ASOS Curve, similar at Forever 21+: 1, 2) | Tights: E, We Love Colors | Boots: Evans (similar at Simply Be, similar at New Look) | Necklace: ASOS (pearl necklace at New Look, spike necklace at ASOS: 1, 2) | Glasses*: Four Eyes | Lippy: Natural Collection Moisture Shine in Rose Bud – available in Boots (similar by MAC)

The skirt is super cute, isn’t it? I can’t wait to show you a different look with it! If you are interested in one as well, Cassiefairy’s prices for custom made skirts like this are about £45-£60, all depending on the amount of fabric you want. BUT since she is so awesome, she has promised my readers 15% off if you quote my blog when emailing her. And yes, she does ship worldwide too, woohoo!

MSM: What’s in your pocket?

Tags: , , , ,

Hey my lovelies,

A while ago I was contacted by Money Supermarket, and I was asked if I would like to take part on their ‘What’s in your pocket’ challenge. I had so much fun with their Secret Santa challenge, that I immediately said yes! They are celebrating life’s ‘little wins’, like finding money in your summer coat’s pocket when you take it out of storage after winter. They sent us bloggers £20, and we could do whatever we wanted with it, have a nice meal, shop, go to movies, whatever came to our minds really. Just to celebrate some extra cash and see what can be done with £20. See more about it here.

Now I haven’t really talked about this at the blog, but I’m actually doing a shopping ban. I haven’t shopped anything except one skirt (that I will blog about soon) since New Year’s Eve. So I’m sure you can imagine that I miss shopping! I decided to take my £20 and see what bargains I could find.

I was extremely lucky with my finds! I’m obsessed with the camouflage trend (and studs and spikes obviously), so I got this bag from Primark, and the quick-drying (kind of a necessity for me!) Rimmel nail polish is also from there. Aaaaand the boots then. They are actual LEATHER boots from Evans. And I managed to get all of these for £18.50 – so I still have some extra for a few candy bars ;).

Thanks Money Supermarket for my chance to shop a bit, I loved it, and I’m very happy with the stuff I got!
