Once again it’s Wednesday, and I’m sure you know it’s Fatshion Faceoff time! If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). This week’s theme was chosen by Dani, and she chose mixed prints.
I don’t mix prints very often, and that’s something that I want to change about my style. I want to be more daring. Now this look that I came up with is CRAZY.. I was going through my wardrobe with Diana, and I picked these two items up as a joke. I put them on and we both were surprised – these two prints together should be so wrong, but they aren’t! I mean I’m not brave enough to wear this look in my everyday life, but for this post I will wear it proudly ;)
So, crazy huh? I did warn you ;). It is growing on me though! Now go and see what kind of prints my ladies mixed for the challenge…

I have previously written about comments I got on Facebook about my pale legs.. I didn’t really care about that, as I’m not one who’d ever use fake tan or such. I do like to look tanned, but somehow my legs never catch the rays. This spring I have decided to bare my legs more, and maybe that will help.. the sun just needs to start shining SOON.
bonprix kindly sent me these gorgeous blazer (I’m a HUGE fan of their blazers, you’ve seen the floral one before) and skirt, and I teamed them up with a – SHOCK, HORROR – a bandeau top! I am totally aware that this outfit would look better if I was tanned, but I decided to be proudly pale ;)
Like you probably know, one of my blog anniversary giveaway-prizes was a styling session with me at Evans Marble Arch store and an outfit worth £100. The winner was 24 year old Dani from Birmingham, and I met her at Evans on Easter Monday for her styling session.
Before meeting her I bombarded her email with questions about her and her style, and what new things she’d be willing to try etc. Dani is a rock chick who loves black, skulls, studs, spikes.. you name it. I didn’t want to choose any outfits that would go far from what she loves. I merely wanted to introduce some more girliness, patterns, and also a bit of bright colours to her, and see how she’d feel about them and how she’d look in them.
I went to the store a few hours before Dani’s arrival and put together 5 outfits. It wasn’t easy with the £100 budget, I would have loved to add more accessories to the outfits, and coats etc, but of course for a stylist/personal shopper it is important to stay in the budget that you have been given, and to listen to your client’s wishes as well. I did just that, and here are the five outfits waiting for Dani. Lots of black, which I hoped would keep the rock chick happy :)
By the way, I’m sorry about the photos – changing room lighting isn’t the best for taking them. And I have added the catalogue photos below each outfit, and you can click through to shop if you’re interested.
Outfit 1.
My idea was to make this lace dress casual with the flats and the denim shirt. Sadly the result wasn’t what I hoped for, I mean it looks cute, but it is missing something. Dani and I both came into a conclusion that a belt would make it better, but there wasn’t any suitable belts in store.
(The lace dress isn’t available online anymore, so I added a black top and a lace skirt below.)
Outfit 2.
I love this one! Evans is *finally* stocking more skater dresses, and this plain black one is really lovely shape on Dani. I teamed it up with Scarlett & Jo wet look leggings and blue heels (see, SOME bright colour introduced here), and I also had blue earrings to add to this outfit. Dani’s legs look amazing in the heels and leggings, and the dress looks just right on her.
Outfit 3.
Now this outfit is really nice, and has the potential to be perfect. IF the jeggings would be super skinny, this would look even more amazing. Both Dani and I loved this top on her, and the shoes and necklace are just awesome! So a wish to Evans.. please give us jeggings/jeans that are super skinny! :)
Outfit 4.
This is a cute outfit, I love the dress and the shoes so much. …But this dress is something that I have myself, and I love it, but I do find it tight around my belly. So we had the same problem with Dani, and unfortunately there weren’t bigger sizes available, so we couldn’t make this outfit as nice as it could have been.
Outfit 5.
Aaaaaaand we have a winner. This is the only outfit I KNEW I would choose for Dani before going to the store that day. I tried these leggings with this top myself at Evans Shape Studio event and that moment came to my mind after I heard about Dani’s likes and dislikes. I knew she’d look stunning in this outfit, and love it herself too. And doesn’t she look amazing?
So, I think I managed to find clothes that Dani liked, it’s a shame that I couldn’t give her a few more outfits as well.. (I think she would have taken outfits 2 and 3..) But all of us there thought that outfit 5 looked stunning, and that’s what Dani took home with her :). I asked her if she would have picked those outfits herself, and she said that definitely not all. I’m so happy that I could bring something new to her wardrobe and into her thinking when she goes shopping. She’s such a lovely and beautiful girl, so nothing wrong in dressing the part and looking and feeling gorgeous! And I do know that styling/personal shopping is something that I want to do in the future, in some way at least. I absolutely love it, and feel that I’d be happy doing it, helping ladies feel happy about themselves and their clothes.
Last but not least I want to thank Claire from Evans for this great opportunity, and the BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING staff at Evans Marble Arch store for their help and assistance, especially the deputy manager Gagan. I really appreciate this and thank you all :)
Once again it’s Wednesday, and I’m sure you know it’s Fatshion Faceoff time! If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). I’m so happy to be back doing the challenge, it was weird (but needed) to skip the last two weeks! This week’s theme was chosen by me, and I chose underwear as outerwear. This gives us a chance to do something a bit more daring, and to bend some ‘rules’.
I tried 3 different outfits before I chose to do this one. I had a great idea with one of them, but couldn’t do it because of various reasons.. I’m sure you will see that outfit someday in the future though. I wore my trusty biker jacket, my new wetlook-scubaish skater skirt from New Look Inspire (which is sadly sold out online already – but I have still seen them in stores) and the gorgeous floral slip from Simply Be that I modelled at Plus North last year.
I really like this look, it’s sexy, but not way too revealing. Not sure what would be the right occasion to wear it though, maybe a gig or a festival? Anyway, enough about me and my outfit – I’m too excited to see the other girls’ looks… let’s click to see!

I was contacted by Most Wanted (the lifestyle magazine for VoucherCodes.co.uk) last week, they asked if I’d like to take part in their latest challenge ‘How to Wear’. Of course I said yes, and I was asked to show 3 looks for one of the SS13 trends they had listed: Modern 60′s. I was given a budget of £80 and I could spend it in any high street/online store.
When I thought of 60′s fashion and what is also available now, I immediately thought of swing dresses and block heeled shoes – and those were what I wanted to base my outfits on. I had seen some amazing swing dresses at ASOS Curve, so that’s where I decided to go with my budget. I bought 2 swing dresses, and since I still had some money left, I also bought a cute beanie that matched the colour of my block heeled shoes.
I didn’t want to be too restricted with the whole ’60′s’ thing, and I went looking through my wardrobe to see items I could pair the dresses with. In my opinion the whole ‘modern’ part of this theme is how to make 60′s inspired items work in today’s fashion. So, want to see the looks I came up with?
Look 1. In this look I wore this black swing dress with orange wedges and denim jacket for a casual and girly look.
Look 2. This was the most 60′s look out of all three, mainly because of my block heel shoes and this short, grey swing dress.
Look 3. Ok, this one I just went for cute and crazy. I also LOVE the fact that I have come a ‘full circle’ since I started blogging… and by that I mean that when I first started blogging I wanted to wear bright colours and figure-hugging dresses – I wanted to make it clear that fat women can wear other stuff than big, black sacks. And here I am, wearing a big, black sack, but loving it! I adore this dress :)!
I absolutely loved doing this challenge, it made me push for completely different looks, and I also looked at my wardrobe differently when I started building the outfits starting from these two dresses. I can’t wait to see Most Wanted‘s feature and what the other bloggers involved did with their themes – thanks so much for asking me to partake! Which one is your favourite out of my three looks? I’m torn between 2 and 3 myself!
It’s Sunday, and it’s Double Vision time again! In this challenge my amazing friend Dani and I are choosing a theme, item, movie character.. whatever we come up with basically, and style those our own way and post at the same time, more about the challenge here. This week’s theme was chosen by me, and I chose ‘Double denim’.
Double denim is something that I have been a bit afraid to try, but as one point of blog challenges is to push each other to try new things etc, I really wanted to go with it. And it turned up to be pretty good, or what do you think? This outfit definitely shows that right accessories can make a ‘meh’ outfit FAB :)!
I really think that double denim can work after all! Have you been afraid of it? Go ahead and try, and tweet/email me a pic – I’m very interested in seeing the looks you come up with :)! But before that, let’s go to DIY Fatshion and see how my fab friend Dani tackled this challenge…
Time for another sparkly look! I got these jeans from H&M sale, and I had a voucher for £5 off if I buy stuff for over £10… sooo, I got these jeans (£7 on the sale) and a iPhone cover (£4.99) and ended up paying £5.99 of them together!!! BARGAINNNNN! The jeans are once again sized by H&M’s interesting system, meaning that I’m usually UK 24, and these jeans are UK 28, the biggest size they do. So if you are UK 18-24 in jeans, go and have a look at your nearest H&M that sells + range, since these are crazy cheap and totally on trend. If that’s not an option, Simply Be has an amazing pair at the moment, have a look!
Have you tried the metallic trousers look?
Oh, and I thought that if you like my blog, I’d ask for a cheeky follow at Bloglovin’ if you use it ;). Thank you xx
]]>The dress in question is this, Snake print skater dress. I’m actually sure that I would have never tried this dress on without this challenge. It doesn’t look anything special on the hanger, and snake print has never been something that appealed to me. BUT first impressions aren’t always right – this dress looks really nice on, and it is really lovely soft and lightweight material that feels really good!
So, how did I style it? Well first of all I wanted to really rock it up, wear it with boots, biker jacket, wet look leggings, and smoky eyed makeup. But yeah, then the summer came back (I’m NOT complaining, I LOVE this fact!).. so I had to come up with something lighter :). I still wanted to accessorise it with black, so this is what I came up with: black belt on a bow, black patent mary janes, black flower brooch, and to make it at least a bit ‘rock’.. my new studded bag and my fave accessory, red lipstick.
This would be a really nice look to wear on a date, cute and formal, but still edgy. In my case the ‘date’ was my brother, since I wore this outfit to meet him for breakfast at the airport (silly pic of us here), since he had some waiting time. And of course I sneakily asked him to take my outfit pics ;). It was the first time he took my outfit pics, and he was making fun of my poses, and wondered when had I gotten so comfortable in front of the camera. Haha bro, that’s what blogging does to you :D.
I really liked doing this challenge, another way to push my boundaries, since this print was definitely totally new to me. I can’t wait to see how the other bloggers style it, go check out how Becky did hers – she looks absolutely gorgeous :)!
I hope you liked how I styled the dress.. and if you did, please vote for me at the Evans Facebook page :). (Shameless, I know.. haha)
]]>I thought that I will get my outfit pics taken in the park, especially since it’s finally sunny! Me and my flatmate were going to lay in the sun anyway, so why not do it in my bikini :).
That was my fatkini outing, now go see where the other ladies wore theirs :)!
