Fatshion Faceoff: Bright shoes

Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

It’s once again Wednesday and it’s Fatshion Faceoff  time :). Fatshion Faceoff is a weekly challenge that I do with 5 other fatshion bloggers from around the world, in the challenge we choose a similar item of clothing and we all style it in our own way. This week’s challenge was chosen by Dani, and she chose bright shoes.

I bought these patent coral wedges from Primark a while ago, they were another one of my awesome clearance finds.. they were only £6! I love the colour of them, I just haven’t had a chance to wear them yet… summer.. where are youuu?!? I teamed them up with this New Look dress. (That has shrunk into a tunic after the first wash. Sad times.. I’m so happy I didn’t pay a full price for it.) It’s ok for this posts sake, but if I want to wear it in public again I need to add shorts or jeans to this outfit. I love how the dress and its belt go with these shoes though, and that’s why I decided to wear them for this challenge.

Shoes: 7, Primark (similar) | Dress & belt: 18: New Look Inspire (similar) | Leggings: 16/18, Primark | Glasses: LensWay

I really liked Dani’s pick for this week, since we haven’t done any accessories in this challenge yet, and I got to finally wear these pretty shoes :). Now click through below and see how the other girls wore their bright shoes!

A breakthrough of sorts..

I wrote this on my Tumblr, and you can see a pic of my outfit there as well. I just feel that I want to share this on my blog too, since yeah.. I have felt that the people at my office have been really cool about all this (how I have started to dress differently since I started blogging), there has been compliments and not dirty looks, until today.

For the first time I got a dirty look at the office because of my VBO (from a very thin woman of course). I love what this whole blogging experience has done to me and my confidence. Less than a year ago I would have been crushed by that look (well to be honest I wouldn’t have worn this then… but anyway), now I just don’t give a shit! I dress for myself, not for thin women who can’t believe that a fatty dares to wear something like this :). And it feels damn good!

I have been lucky that this hasn’t happened to me before, so my confidence has grown and now when it happened I didn’t feel ‘defeated’ at all. If some thinner people don’t have the confidence to wear tight clothes, why should I care?

This is me, this is my VBO, and I like me :).

OOTD: Casual dots

This rainy Sunday was a perfect reason to catch up on my blog after a busy week. I worked overtime every day, and I have been exhausted. Today I finally felt better and had energy to do a few blog posts. (The other one is next Wednesday’s Fatshion Faceoff, which I have scheduled – goooo me!)

This is the outfit I plan on wearing tomorrow. I love my new denim gilet from New Look, and I think it works well with this outfit! I have been looking for a polkadot skirt for ages, and I found this when I went thrifting 3 weeks ago.. Finally wearing it now! It’s size 16 (!!!) from H&M and it cost me £4.50! My top is also kind of thrifted, since I bought it from Becky‘s blogsale a while ago. I think it goes very well with the skirt :).

Denim gilet: 20, New Look Inspire | Top: 20, Dorothy Perkins – via Becky (similar) | Skirt: 16, H&M – thrifted (similar) | Leggings: 16/18, Primark | Boots: 6, Evans (similar) | Glasses: LensWay

Coat: 22, Simply Be

And this Simply Be coat… Damn! I wanted it since I saw it the first time, but finally got it during Friday 13th sale they had, and it cost me only £36!! I freaking LOVE it, and since the weather keeps on staying cold, I can still wear it. (I need to find something good about this dreading weather!!!)

Fatshion Faceoff: High-low hem

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

It’s Wednesday, it’s my birthday, and it’s Fatshion Faceoff time! Fatshion Faceoff is a weekly challenge that I do with 5 other fatshion bloggers from around the world, in the challenge we choose a similar item of clothing and we all style it in our own way. This week’s challenge was chosen by me, and I chose a high-low hem, so either skirt or a dress.

I ordered a black high-low skirt and teal high-low dress from Forever 21 recently, so I actually had both options, but decided to go with the skirt. Mainly because I’m in love with yellow (like I mentioned in my last post) and wanted to add that to the outfit. The pretty lacy top is from the first swap I did with Dani of DIY Fatshion a few months back, and I can’t believe how perfectly it fits me, it’s like it was made for me! Finally I came up with an outfit that I could add it to :).

High-low skirt: 2X, Forever 21+ ⎜ Shrug: 20, New Look Inspire (similar) ⎜Top: 2, Torrid – swapped with Dani (similar) ⎜Belt: from the yellow version of this Old Navy skirt ⎜Heels: 7W, New Look ⎜Glasses: LensWay

I love this trend because I dislike the backs of my knees, and these skirts I can wear without tights/leggings, haha! I plan on wearing this outfit on Saturday, I’m going out for my birthday dinner with some friends. Have you tried the high-low trend yet?

Now go and have a look how the other Fatshion Faceoff girls wore their hems. I’m sure they’re all looking beautiful as always :)!
