Exclusive first look: Pink Clove

Today I have something pretty special to show you! I’m really excited about this post and these news, and I hope you will be too. Either this will be a total surprise for you, or you might have seen some cryptic tweets or Facebook statuses about it.. BUT there is a new plus-size brand on the block: Pink Clove. I didn’t know what to expect when I was invited to go behind the scenes at their lookbook photoshoot. I ended up being one of the first people to see their new range and to hear about it, and now it is my time to show and tell you what I learned.

So, what kind of brand is Pink Clove? They are a British brand whose online shop has opened this morning. They sell trendy plus-size clothing in really affordable prices, and they ship worldwide. Their first collection has variety of jersey items; leggings, skirts, tops and dresses, and their price range is from £12 to £40. The size range for the collection is 16-32 (the two biggest sizes are dual-sized at 26/28 and 30/32), and this first collection is entirely made in the UK.

I have lots more info to tell you, but first let me show you some behind the scenes shots that I took at the photoshoot. (I warn you, this post will be very picture heavy, but I want to let the photos to do most of the talking and for you to see as much as possible.)

It was crazy to see how much happens behind the camera and on breaks. The gorgeous models Bara and Brenna were amazing, and I have huge respect for models after seeing all that.. I could never do that job! Below are just a few final photos from the shoot – the girls and the clothes look stunning, and I’m sure you’ll agree!

Gorgeous, right? But how do the clothes look like when one is not a model? Maybe you wonder how they look on someone big bellied, big boobed and big bottomed? Well, I am all of those things myself and since I was lucky to receive some samples from them, I took some photos to show you. (I apologise, I’ve been feeling ill and it really shows in some of these photos. I’m sure you’ll see these pieces in future OOTD posts as well.)

Maxi dress, £28 (I sized up to 30/32 to ensure it is very long, as I need my maxis to be long – haha)

Alphabet print dress, £18 (I sized up to 26/28 since I didn’t want it to fit like a bodycon on me)

I really love these cute pieces I got, especially the maxi dress, and the tartan and lace skirts, and the peplum top, and the leggings… yes, many things. I also took some photos of the products at the shoot, so let me show you some more of my favourites.

Oh how I wish that this jumpsuit would suit my bodyshape! One day I will give it a try as it’s just stunning!

This collection has three key stories; Sports Luxe, Punk Grunge and 40′s & 50′s Lady. Sports Luxe is inspired by sportswear styling with a strong emphasis on luxe surfaces (lurex yarns in the fabrics, wetlook high shine fabrics and ornate embellishment print), Punk Grunge is inspired by 1970’s punk combined with 1990’s grunge (street influenced trend with a feminine twist, they have used bold prints and a combination of textured fabrics and lace to create a pretty/feminine grunge look), and lastly 40′s & 50′s Lady is a combination of two key looks from the AW 13/14 catwalks (the glamorous and demure 1940’s looks from the catwalks gave them a perfect hourglass silhouette to work with, and the 1950’s look gave them the fit and flare silhouettes). In their future collections they are looking to add also denim and woven items to their range, but started with only jersey items.

There’s never enough plus-size brands around, especially one that says that its goal is to offer affordable fashion for plus-sized women offering them the latest fashion trends at key price points.
