Hello my lovies,

Today is a gorgeous day (so far at least), and after ages of endless rain it is lovely to see the sun again! So obviously I took advantage of the situation and ventured outside for outfit photos. Polka dots are for happy times (am I right?), and I wore my new Scarlett & Jo prom dress for the occasion! It is no secret that I love these prom dresses (post 1, post 2), and I was so excited to receive a parcel containing this one from Scarlett & Jo :). I added my platform ankle boots and a sparkly necklace, but toned it all down with a denim jacket – all in all cute look for a sunny day, or what do you think?

Heippa!

Tänään on pitkästä aikaa kaunis päivä (ainakin tähän asti) täällä Lontoossa. Vettä on satanut taukoamatta, joten on ihana nähdä taas vähän aurinkoakin! Tietysti siis käytin tilaisuutta hyväkseni, ja lähdin ulos ottamaan asukuvia. Pallokuosit on selkeästi tarkoitettu iloisiin hetkiin (enkö olekin oikeassa?), joten pukeuduin uuteen Scarlett & Jo- mekkooni! Ei todellakaan ole mikään salaisuus, että rakastan näitä heidän prom-mekkojaan (postaus 1, postaus 2), ja olin aivan innoissani kun sain Scarlett & Jo:lta paketin joka sisälsi tämän pallo-mekon :). Lisäsin asuun korko-nilkkurit ja kimaltelevan kaukakorun, mutta tein kokonaisuudesta arkisemman lisäämällä farkkutakin – mielestäni oikein söpö asu aurinkoiseen päivään, vai mitä olette mieltä?

Fatshion Faceoff: Christmas Day

It’s time for Fatshion Faceoff again! If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). This week’s theme was chosen by Mhairi, and she chose ‘Christmas Day’. In Finland we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve already, and actually this year we my family will possibly celebrate on 22nd already, before my brother and his gf go to see her family. The main thing about Christmas time for me is to spend time with my family, so I don’t really mind what day the celebrating will happen, as long as I’m with the people I love the most :).

And this year I’m planning to wear this gorgeous dress for the Christmas dinner. So, this dress. Ah, this dress. A few months ago Mouna and I went to visit the Scarlett & Jo studio here in London, and of course we were eager to try some stuff on. I have been a fan of their prom dresses ever since I got my first one, and when I saw this beauty I had to try it on. The S&J designer Angela told me that they didn’t put that dress into production and she was quite sad about it, and after seeing it on me she demanded that I take it. Now that is a demand that I wouldn’t even think of refusing, as I love this satin dream dress! The S&J prom dresses are really a perfect fit for my body shape, and there will always be room for them in my wardrobe.

I borrowed a petticoat from Diana to give the skirt of the dress more ‘oomph’, and wore this lovely bracelet from Glitzy Secrets. The bracelet is a really great addition to any party outfit, beautiful without taking too much attention from other bits of the outfit. Overall my look for these photos ended up being kinda gothic.. I still like it a lot, but I might go for a red lipstick instead of this dark cherry one.

Nyt olis jälleen Fatshion Faceoffin aika. Jos et ole vielä tietoinen tästä ‘projektista’ jota teen 4 muun plussa-bloggaajan kanssa, niin lisätietoa (englanniksi) löytyy täältä. Tämän viikon teemaksi Mhairi valitsi Joulupäivän. Täällä päin maailmaa joulun ‘pääpäivä’ on Joulupäivä, eikä aatto niinkuin Suomessa.. siksipä teema on tämä. Meidän perheessä taitaa tänä vuonna joulun juhlistaminen tapahtua jo tänä sunnuntaina, ennenkuin veli lähtee tyttöystävänsä kanssa toisen puolen perheen luo. Minulle joulussa pääasia on viettää aikaa perheen ja rakkaiden kanssa, eli eipä sillä niin väliä ole mikä päivä juhlitaan, kunhan ollaan yhdessä :).

Tänä vuonna meinasin pukeutua tähän ihanaan mekkoon joulupäivälliselle. Tämän mekon tarina alkaa parin kuukauden takaa, jolloin olin Mounan kanssa visiitillä Scarlett & Jo:n studiolla täällä Lontoossa. Siellä oli rekeillä roikkumassa vaikka mitä ihanuuksia, ja tietysti haluttiin kokeilla niitä. Olen tykännyt näistä merkin prom-mekoista siitä asti kun sain ensimmäiseni, ja kun näin tämän satiinisen unelman, niin hyökkäsin heti sitä sovittamaan. S&J:n suunnittelija Angela kertoi, että kyseinen mekko ei mene ollenkaan tuotantoon, ja että hän ei ollut päätöksestä kovin iloinen. Nähtyään mekon päälläni, hän vaati että otan sen omakseni. Eipä tarvinnut paljoa mua suostutella ajatukseen (öh, siis ei ollenkaan, haha)! S&J prom-mekot on ihan täydellisiä mun kroppamallille, ja mulla tulee aina olemaan vaatekaapissa tilaa niille.

Saadakseni mekkoon lisää volyymiä, lainasin tämän alushameen kämppikseltäni Dianalta, ja koruksi lisäsin tämän rannekorun Glitzy Secrets:iltä. Kokonaisuudessaan tämä asu näyttää aika goottimaiselta (voin kuvitella veljeni kommentoimassa juurikin noin, haha).. ja vaikka tästä kokonaisuudesta tykkäänkin, niin taidan valita tämän tumman huulipunan asemesta ihan normaalin punaisen.

Plus North: Catwalk

This is my final post on Plus North (see previous ones here and here), and it’s just a quick outfit post on what I wore for the Scarlett & Jo catwalk at the afterparty.

First time I saw this dress was in NYC when I went to the Evans A/W press day, and I fell in love with it. The dress is the same shape as this top, and I really love that shape on me (seen in this post). Thankfully the lovely Lucy from Scarlett & Jo remembered that I loved it, and scheduled me to model it at Plus North (and actually sent the dress to me last week as well – thank you). The catwalk itself was scary, but thankfully the other modelling bloggers were there with me and we got through it together :). I loved how they styled our hair and make-up, I wish I could do a bun like this myself!

Apua, eka asupostaus suomeksi, jännittää :D. Noh, eiköhän tää tästä.. Ihan ekaks haluan mainita, että niin paljon kuin pystyn, niin laitan asulinkkejä paikkoihin jotka toimittaa myös Suomeen/mainitsen suomalaiset koot. Tässä tietyssä postauksessa olen käyttänyt UK-linkkejä englannin kielisessä tekstissä ja Suomi-linkkejä suomalaisessa tekstissä. Toivottavasti linkit toimivat, mutta jättäkää ihmeessä kommenttia jos tarviitte lisäinfoa tai apua :). Ok, sitten itse postaukseen…

En tiedä ootteko jo nähneet mun edellisiä postauksia Plus North-tapahtumasta parin viikon takaa (jos ette, niin ne löytyy täältä ja täältä)? Tämä on asu joka oli päälläni, kun olin catwalk mallina Scarlett & Jo-merkille tapahtuman iltabileissä.

Näin tämän mekon eka kertaa New Yorkissa kesällä, kun vierailin Evansin syys-talvi malliston pressipäivillä. Mekko on samaa mallia kuin tämä paita, joten tiesin mallin sopivan hyvin kropalleni (jos kiinnostaa, niin vanha asupostaus kyseisen paidan aikaisemman version kanssa löytyy täältä). Lucy Scarlett & Jo:lta onneksi muisti, että rakastuin mekkoon New Yorkissa ja listasi mut malliksi sille (ja lähettikin mekon mulle omaksi viime viikolla – ihanaa)!

Catwalkilla oli pelottavaa, mutta onneksi me kaikki bloggeri-mallit oltiin samassa jamassa ja tuettiin toisiamme. Ja siis RAKASTAN miten meidän meikit ja hiukset laitettiin.. osaisinpa tehdä tuollaisen nutturan itse! Valitettavasti olen ihan toivoton hius- ja meikkiasioissa, haha ;).

FFFW: Afterparty

Hello my lovelies,

Here comes the last of my FFFW posts.. the outfit that I wore to the afterparty. Dani and I started the party in a pub near the afterparty venue, the pub was cosy and a bit weird too: they had Churchill’s speeches on speaker in the toilets :D! We enjoyed our pints of cider and then went to the afterparty. We stayed there for about 15 minutes, and came back to the pub, haha! We are such grannies, that we wanted to have our ciders and sit down and talk, instead of standing with our fancy cocktails and not hear a thing. Grannies for the win ;). Mouna, Olivia and their other halves joined us later and we ended up having a fun last evening in the city. (I miss you ladies!)

I wore this amazing prom dress from Scarlett & Jo, and I absolutely LOVE it. I felt so cute and girly, and I recommend this dress to everyone – the shape of it is perfect, I believe it would suit all bodyshapes.
