Fatshion Faceoff: ’80s inspired (feat. awesomeness from Simply Be)

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello lovelies,

First of all, sorry for my absence from all things blogverse lately. Like I explained in this post, I’ve been really busy and stressed, especially with my house move. I’m happy to tell you that I’m all moved in now, BUT half of my stuff is still unpacked and all over the place. I’m trying to get everything in place before my holiday – going to Finland from 7th to 13th August – so please wish me luck :)! I’ll slowly but surely try to get back to updating more regularly, and I have one very exiting post in the pipeline!

Anyway, I’m sure you want me to get back to usual business and outfits.. haha.  So, once again it’s Wednesday, and I’m sure you know it’s Fatshion Faceoff time! If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). This week’s theme was chosen by Olivia, and she chose ’80s inspired’.

I was asked by Simply Be if I wanted some pieces from their new AW collection, and I was sent this amazing outfit a while ago. The reason why I haven’t posted it earlier is that it fits this theme perfectly and I wanted to wait! These three pieces (animal print blazer, PU skirt and checkerboard top) spoke to me instantly when I saw the new collection. I could see that they’d look awesome together, and also very ’80s. I finished the look with a pair of Converse and these amazingly tacky palm tree earrings by Gogo Philip. Being a child of the ’80s who always dressed very boringly during ’80s and ’90s, I was VERY drawn to all these pieces – I guess I’m reliving my youth this way ;).

Blazer*: 24, Simply Be | Top*: 26, Simply Be | Skirt*: 24, Simply Be | Shoes: Converse | Earrings*: Gogo Philip – sold out (tacky palm tree earrings by Juicy Couture) | Glasses: Select Specs | Lippy: Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Fuchsia Flash (UK link, US link)

How do you feel about ’80s fashion? Love it or hate it, either way let’s go and see how the other girls did with this theme! :)

Fatshion Faceoff: Multiple bracelets

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello lovelies,

It’s now Thursday, so I’m one day late with my Fatshion Faceoff post. If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). This week’s item was chosen by me, and I chose multiple bracelets.

I totally forgot what day it was yesterday, so that’s why my post is late. We have a heatwave in London at the moment (which I’m NOT complaining about, so happy it’s summer), and our office doesn’t have a working aircon. That equals my brain being useless, and I don’t remember stuff like what day it is. Ok, enough with my excuse, haha..

I feel the same like Dani said in her post, before I started blogging I didn’t use bracelets much, actually I think my new obsession with them started only like 6 months ago or so. I LOVE them, they can change the mood of an outfit instantly, and when you add other jewellery too, the change is even bigger. Like this outfit I’m wearing today for example.. black maxi dress and denim vest are simple and nice, but these pieces of neon accessories add a different feel to them. I got these bracelets from Ashley Stewart while I was in NYC, and sadly I can’t link them since they don’t seem to sell jewellery on their site at all. If you have a chance to go in store, I do recommend this bracelet set, I adore these!

Dress: 3X, Forever 21+ (similar at New Look, similar at Simply Be) | Denim vest: 1x, Forever 21+ (similar at Simply Be) | Sandals: Evans – modified | Necklace: Lane Bryant (VERY similar on eBay, similar at Urban Outfitters) | Bracelets: Ashley Stewart (similar with black details at Lane Bryant) | Bag: Primark (similar at Topshop) | Glasses: Select Specs | Lippy: Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch

My friend Adam took these pics and said I need something different.. so that’s why there’s a sitting down pic in this post ;). It’s not too bad though, so I’m happy he made me do it! But anyway, let’s go see what kind of arm parties the other girls are rocking!

FFFW: White Cruise

Tags: , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello my lovies,

Slowly but surely I will try to post about my NYC trip, it’s nice to take breaks from packing my wardrobe anyway ;). This time my post is about the White Cruise. I was excited by this event beforehand, but when I actually got to the boat I realised that I had kind of forgotten my seasickness and fear of heights. Who forgets that? Well I do it seems, haha. Despite that I did manage to have laughs with my ladies, and see amazing sunset views of Manhattan.

I love the Chrysler Building so much!

Oh and you already know how I feel about the Brooklyn Bridge <3

Me (holding on to my dear life, haha), Olivia and Dani

Olivia, Mouna and Rebecca

Dress*: 24, Project D for Simply Be | Heels: Evans | Belt*: Matalan | Bag*: Matalan (similar at New Look) | Bracelet: gift from Dani | Earrings*: Matalan (similar at ASOS) | Bra (just seen)*: Princess by Curvy Kate | Glasses: Select Specs | Lippy: Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Fuchsia Flash (UK link, US link)

I didn’t own anything fully white before the trip, but I was lucky to get this gorgeous dress from Simply Be, and I loved it SO MUCH. It was hard having it for weeks before not being able to wear it yet! I did have a slight panic about my bra situation though (since strapless is not my friend, and I didn’t own a white bra), but the lovely ladies at Curvy Kate came to my rescue and sent me the beautiful Princess set in white – and it goes PERFECTLY with the dress. So I owe a huge thank you to both companies from sorting out my outfit for that evening <3!

So, what was the best part of the cruise for me then? Well, since Dani and I are huge dorks, we LOVED going to the photobooth and being totally silly.. and we ended up going there quite a few times :D.

Oh you can’t believe how much I miss that silly lady now!
