Fatshion Faceoff: Mixed prints

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello my lovelies,

Once again it’s Wednesday, and I’m sure you know it’s Fatshion Faceoff time! If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). This week’s theme was chosen by Dani, and she chose mixed prints.

I don’t mix prints very often, and that’s something that I want to change about my style. I want to be more daring. Now this look that I came up with is CRAZY.. I was going through my wardrobe with Diana, and I picked these two items up as a joke. I put them on and we both were surprised – these two prints together should be so wrong, but they aren’t! I mean I’m not brave enough to wear this look in my everyday life, but for this post I will wear it proudly ;)

Blouse: 24, ASOS Curve | Dress: 22, ASOS Curve | Heels: Evans | Glasses: Select Specs | Necklace: Lane Bryant | Lippy: Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids in Shocking Coral

So, crazy huh? I did warn you ;). It is growing on me though! Now go and see what kind of prints my ladies mixed for the challenge…

FFFW: What I wore to Indie runway event

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hey my lovelies,

My favourite event I attended at Full Figured Fashion Week was the Indie designers runway show. It was amazing to see the diversity in the industry, and funnily enough my favourites were Rue 114 and Live Unlimited – which were the most daring and most classic out of them all :)! Sadly my photos didn’t turn out very well, but please see Dani’s post for nice detailed photos.

I wore a gorgeous dress that I got from Marisota, I love the vibrant coral colour and the lace detailing, it is definitely one of my favourite dresses. I teamed it up with my nude/neon yellow heels from Lane Bryant and some gold jewellery.

Dress*: 26, Marisota | Heels*: Lane Bryant | Belt: from a New Look dress (similar at ASOS Curve) | Bow ring: ASOS Curve | Bracelets: Evans & *Lane Bryant | Glasses: Select Specs | Lippy: Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids in Electric Orange (UK link, US link)

After the runway Dani and I went for dinner and drinks with Lucy and Angela from Scarlett&Jo. It was lovely to chat with them and hear things about plus-size fashion from a brand’s point of view. That day was definitely my favourite day in NYC :).

ps. Did you see my post on Pink Clove, a new plus-size brand? Check it out and enter the giveaway too!

Fatshion Faceoff: Multiple bracelets

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello lovelies,

It’s now Thursday, so I’m one day late with my Fatshion Faceoff post. If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). This week’s item was chosen by me, and I chose multiple bracelets.

I totally forgot what day it was yesterday, so that’s why my post is late. We have a heatwave in London at the moment (which I’m NOT complaining about, so happy it’s summer), and our office doesn’t have a working aircon. That equals my brain being useless, and I don’t remember stuff like what day it is. Ok, enough with my excuse, haha..

I feel the same like Dani said in her post, before I started blogging I didn’t use bracelets much, actually I think my new obsession with them started only like 6 months ago or so. I LOVE them, they can change the mood of an outfit instantly, and when you add other jewellery too, the change is even bigger. Like this outfit I’m wearing today for example.. black maxi dress and denim vest are simple and nice, but these pieces of neon accessories add a different feel to them. I got these bracelets from Ashley Stewart while I was in NYC, and sadly I can’t link them since they don’t seem to sell jewellery on their site at all. If you have a chance to go in store, I do recommend this bracelet set, I adore these!

Dress: 3X, Forever 21+ (similar at New Look, similar at Simply Be) | Denim vest: 1x, Forever 21+ (similar at Simply Be) | Sandals: Evans – modified | Necklace: Lane Bryant (VERY similar on eBay, similar at Urban Outfitters) | Bracelets: Ashley Stewart (similar with black details at Lane Bryant) | Bag: Primark (similar at Topshop) | Glasses: Select Specs | Lippy: Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch

My friend Adam took these pics and said I need something different.. so that’s why there’s a sitting down pic in this post ;). It’s not too bad though, so I’m happy he made me do it! But anyway, let’s go see what kind of arm parties the other girls are rocking!

Lane Bryant Blogger Conference

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello my lovelies,

One of the events that I was looking forward the most in New York was the Lane Bryant Blogger Conference. I was excited to see other bloggers and how they had dressed up etc – and the ladies didn’t disappoint, they were a stylish bunch. The day started with a lovely breakfast at the Lane Bryant flagship store on 34th Street, and the store looked AMAZING. There was room for gorgeous displays, and especially the underwear section, Cacique, looked stunning.

I hung out with other bloggers, like Olivia and Rebecca, and of course Dani and Mouna. I also ran to the changing rooms to try on bras (hence the slightly creepy photo of me above.. haha). Cacique bras are amazing, but sadly their cup sizes end at H. I’m an HH/J, but I was determined to find some bras that worked for me. I ended up going back a few days later and getting their strapless bra (not totally my size, BUT it stays up and is supportive, which I have never found in strapless bras – so this one was a winner), and the most funky longline bra ever. The cups are a bit too small for me in that one, the central core isn’t flat against my chest.. BUT I had to get it, it was too pretty ;)!

After the event at the store, we moved to Affinia hotel, where lovely people from Lane Bryant told us about their Fall line (great stuff on the way, yay!), and more about their Activewear and Cacique. Sadly I don’t have any photos of that part of the day, I’m a bad blogger and I apologise :/.

Anyway, to my outfit for the day then.. I really liked this one, I called it a neon explosion ;). The top and skirt are basic (apart from the neon shoulders of the top and the skirt being pleather that is), but all the accessories have neon in them. I got lots of compliments, especially on the skirt.. no wonder it’s one of my faves. What do you think of mixing different neon shades with basic colours?

Top*: US 22-24, Lane Bryant | Skirt: 24, Simply Be (similar at AX Paris) | Sandals: Evans | Necklace: Lane Bryant – gift from Dani (neon pink necklaces at boohoo, Urban Outfitters and Max & Chloe) | Bag: Kmart (similar at ASOS and Topshop) | Ring: Torrid (heart ring at ASOS Curve) | Bracelet: Primark (similar at Zappos, neon yellow bracelets at Urban Outfitters: 1, 2 and ASOS) | Glasses: Select Specs | Lippy: Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Electric Orange (UK link, US link)
