Furry Chic

(Suomeksi kuvien alla)

Hello my lovelies,

It has gotten chilly this week, so what better time to show you my new faux fur coat from Simply Be. I look like a yeti in it, but I love it :D! I teamed it up with an ASOS Curve peplum top with paisley print back (only £8 on sale!), velvet leggings from New Look Inspire, fringed boots from Evans, orange satchel and orange lippy. The outfit is quite chic and girly, even with all the fur. Or what do you think? Are you loving faux fur this autumn?

Coat / Takki*: 26, Simply Be | Top / Paita: 26, ASOS Curve | Leggings / Leggingsit: 24, New Look Inspire | Boots / Saappaat: Evans (similar at Simply Be) | Bag / Laukku: Kmart (similar at River Island) | Rings / Sormukset: Forever 21 | Lippy / Huulipuna: Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Electric Orange

Heippa!

Torrid Fall Preview

Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

Hello lovelies,

I’m trying to go through my NYC posts slowly but surely, and this time it’s time to talk about Torrid. I already spoke a bit about our shopping trip to Torrid in this post, but this post is about their Fall Preview event that I was lucky to be invited to. The event was hosted by the lovely Jessica Kane, and it was full of bloggers whose blogs I have been following since I found plus-size blogs. Like you know, Torrid isn’t very famous here in the UK, mainly because they don’t have stores in here.. I wish they did though, since they offer the same kind of bold designs that ASOS Curve does, making same kind of stuff for plus-size than we are used to seeing in main ranges.

The Torrid representatives, including their main designer, told us about the pieces and encouraged us to try stuff on. I tried on their new skinny jeggings which were AMAZING, I can’t wait to get my hands on them!

Mouna trying on this heart-print top that has a really interesting back detail. Love it!

Details on denim – I love the lightning print!

GORGEOUS blazers, the rose print also comes in a purple colourway

My favourite knit was this oversized purple top, and the colours of the bras were stunning.

And what did I wear then? Well Torrid of course, since I bought quite a few pieces just 2 days before ;).

Top: 4, Torrid (similarish at ASOS Curve: 1, 2) | Shorts: 26 US, Torrid (similar at ASOS Curve) | Shoes: Minnetonka Moccasins (similar at ASOS) | Bag: Kmart (similar at Fab) | Necklace: Primark (similarish at Accessorize) | Lippy: Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch (UK link, US link) | Sunnies: ages old from Finland

Lane Bryant Blogger Conference

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello my lovelies,

One of the events that I was looking forward the most in New York was the Lane Bryant Blogger Conference. I was excited to see other bloggers and how they had dressed up etc – and the ladies didn’t disappoint, they were a stylish bunch. The day started with a lovely breakfast at the Lane Bryant flagship store on 34th Street, and the store looked AMAZING. There was room for gorgeous displays, and especially the underwear section, Cacique, looked stunning.

I hung out with other bloggers, like Olivia and Rebecca, and of course Dani and Mouna. I also ran to the changing rooms to try on bras (hence the slightly creepy photo of me above.. haha). Cacique bras are amazing, but sadly their cup sizes end at H. I’m an HH/J, but I was determined to find some bras that worked for me. I ended up going back a few days later and getting their strapless bra (not totally my size, BUT it stays up and is supportive, which I have never found in strapless bras – so this one was a winner), and the most funky longline bra ever. The cups are a bit too small for me in that one, the central core isn’t flat against my chest.. BUT I had to get it, it was too pretty ;)!

After the event at the store, we moved to Affinia hotel, where lovely people from Lane Bryant told us about their Fall line (great stuff on the way, yay!), and more about their Activewear and Cacique. Sadly I don’t have any photos of that part of the day, I’m a bad blogger and I apologise :/.

Anyway, to my outfit for the day then.. I really liked this one, I called it a neon explosion ;). The top and skirt are basic (apart from the neon shoulders of the top and the skirt being pleather that is), but all the accessories have neon in them. I got lots of compliments, especially on the skirt.. no wonder it’s one of my faves. What do you think of mixing different neon shades with basic colours?

Top*: US 22-24, Lane Bryant | Skirt: 24, Simply Be (similar at AX Paris) | Sandals: Evans | Necklace: Lane Bryant – gift from Dani (neon pink necklaces at boohoo, Urban Outfitters and Max & Chloe) | Bag: Kmart (similar at ASOS and Topshop) | Ring: Torrid (heart ring at ASOS Curve) | Bracelet: Primark (similar at Zappos, neon yellow bracelets at Urban Outfitters: 1, 2 and ASOS) | Glasses: Select Specs | Lippy: Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Electric Orange (UK link, US link)
