Fatshion Faceoff: Boots

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello lovelies,

It’s Wednesday and I’m sure you know it’s Fatshion Faceoff time! If you’re new to the blog, please see here what Fatshion Faceoff is about :). This week’s challenge item was chosen by Mouna, and she chose boots.

I don’t know if my boots count as cheating, since I decided to wear ankle boots. I got these from Avenue when I went to New York in March, they were on sale for like $15, so obviously I had to get them! And this coat then.. OH MY GOOOOOD. My flatmate found this gem from a thrift store… Genuine leather Anna Scholz White Label coat. FOR £35! I just love finds like that, and I love my flatmate for always looking for things for me too <3!

Ankle boots: Avenue (similar at Simply Be) | Coat: 3, Anna Scholz – thrifted (similar shape but woolen at Marisota, PU sleeved coat at Simply Be) | Dress: 24, Matalan (similar at ASOS, similar at AX Paris) | Belt: XL, Dorothy Perkins (similar at One Stop Plus) | Headband: Accessorize (similar at Forever 21) | Tights: We Love Colors via the amazing Caroline <3 | Clutch: Accessorize (similar at New Look) | Glasses: LensWay (similar at Select Specs)

I seriously love this coat and I can’t believe my luck. Anna’s designs are amazing, but sadly way out of my reach because of the prices.. so thankfully some weird person (because who would want to get rid of this?!?) had given this to charity shop. Anyway, this should be about BOOTS.. sorry, haha. Click ahead to check out my fabulous ladies and see what kind of boots they are wearing.

Fatshion Faceoff: Hoop earrings

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hey my lovelies,

Once again it’s Wednesday, and that means Fatshion Faceoff time! Fatshion Faceoff is a weekly challenge that I do with 4 other fatshion bloggers from around the world, in the challenge we choose a similar item of clothing or an accessory and we all style it in our own way. This week’s challenge was chosen by me, and I chose hoop earrings.

I have loads of jewellery and I never wear them, so picking this item was me trying to get myself to wear more stuff from my jewellery cabinet too, not only from my wardrobe. I chose this black/silver pair that I got from Forever 21 sale a while ago, and I chose to wear them with a semi-casual outfit. I wore the AWESOME racoon-shirt that Dani sent me last week (LOVE YOU LADY!) and the gorgeous Anna Scholz for Simply Be faux leather trousers that I found totally by accident from the Simply Be sale! I added a long belt, black clutch and red heels, and red lips of course :).

The photos are an interesting experiment this time, taken at our house’s crappy staircase that our landlord will never fix. My flatmates sister painted that cute picture though, so it makes it a bit better, haha. I was also without the proper camera again, but I hope you’ll bear with me.

Earrings: Forever 21 (similar) | Shirt: 24, ASOS Curve – via Dani (same in elephant print) | Trousers: 24, Anna Scholz for Simply Be (similar) | Heels: Yours Clothing (similar) | Belt: thrifted (similar) | Clutch: Volcom – my friend’s (similar) | Glasses: LensWay (similar) | Lippy: Maybelline Colorsensational 547, Pleasure Me Red

Now go check out what kind of hoops the other girls have on their ears, haha :). I wonder who wears the biggest ones..

Turns out there are MANY.. and instead of one post I will do a series, and I want to include as many plus-size (or up to size 20/22) retailers as possible. Plus London Two #1 – Anna Scholz

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Sorry for not blogging in ages. I’m currently on sickness leave from work, cos the muscles on my right shoulder and neck are absolutely killing me. I’ve never had any muscle problems that lasted this long, somehow I think that the cold weather is making it worse. So yeah, I’m on leave from using a mouse, and I have tried taking a holiday from too much typing as well, but today I damn will blog! Cos I want to! ;)

Last Saturday was the day of Plus London Two. I was really excited to participate and to see all the ladies behind their lovely blogs. I decided to wear two different outfits on the day (like so many other girls too – we do love our clothes, haha), and this is what I wore to our visit to Anna Scholz.

Jumper: 3X, H&M  Belt: thrifted (similar)  Skirt: 20, Primark (similar)  Leggings: 16/18, Primark  Booties: 6, Simply Be (similar)

Scarf: Accessorize (similar) Coat: 22, New Look Inspire (similar, similar)  Bag: thrifted (similar, but cooler)

I took an interesting bus route (3 buses) to Anna’s showroom, but it went quicker than I thought. I was the first one there and met Cliff outside. He asked if I’m there for the blogger event, I said yes and he kindly invited me in even though I was really early. I got in and immediately he introduced me to Anna. I was a bit starstruck and must have seemed really shy, and I felt horrible that I when shook her hand my hand was absolutely FREEZING COLD (sorry, Anna). I chatted a bit with her and then she led me to her showroom and I was in front of this sight:

Racks full of the most beautiful colours and patterns I have ever seen in plus size clothing. I said to Anna that they are absolutely gorgeous, and she just urged me to have a closer look and feel them and try them on if I wanted. I was in the middle of going through the racks when the next bloggers arrived, it was Mhairi of Lilybobombs Lovely Lumps and Caroline of CurvyWordy who both were really lovely and stunning girls!

I found my absolute dream dress not long after that, and I kept going back to it about 9826509256 times during that afternoon. Seriously, look at it:

Circle Georgette Shift Dress from the Anna Scholz White Label collection

Ah! I LOVE IT! (And when I do own this dress – and one day I will – I know not to wear a red bra)

More of a close up of the beautiful circle hem. (Thank you Sally for taking these pics.)

My second favourite was this Georgette Tailoring Corset Dress from Anna Scholz Black Label collection

Sadly they didn’t have this dress on stock yet, so the only size we could try on was 18. As you can see, it’s WAY too small for me, but you can also see that if it was right size, it would be gorgeous! (Thank you Lauren for helping me to squeeze into this dress and taking the pic.) Click this link to the beautiful Katha’s post of the day to see how stunning this dress is when it’s right size.

Anna showing her fave pieces of S/S12 and answering questions of roomful of bloggers.

During a Q&A with Anna we learned how she gets inspired by everything around her, she wears her own designs (like plans to take her amazing palm tree-print dresses with her to her holiday in Miami), and likes to get things right on her designs (good example is buying a real snake skin, scanning it, and then using it for the print of her purple snakeskin dresses). She uses a size 18 fitting model who comes to the studio often to make sure that the cut of clothes is absolutely right. Anna would also love to have a show on London Fashion Week, I guess that is what ALL of us hope, and hopefully someday this will happen. No one would deserve it more than Anna, who has been designing clothes since she was 13.

Anna and her team really treated us well, I loved my time in there. Liz was helping us to get right sizes to try on, Cliff was giving us drinks, sandwiches and perfect cupcakes from The Hummingbird Bakery (my kryptonite) and Anna herself was happily chatting to all of us and answering questions and telling her opinions. They also seemed to have a really great team spirit at the company, such lovely and friendly people! So I want to give them the biggest thank you ever, we really had an amazing time, and I could sense that they day was fun for Anna too! Thank you again team Anna Scholz for having us!
