Paisley Dreams

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello lovies,

If you follow my Instagram and Twitter, you might have seen hints and previews about the shoot I had with my lovely and talented friend Diana. I wanted something new to my blog, and she kindly helped me.. I absolutely loved having a professional taking my photos, and of course it was a bonus to have a nice girly day with a friend while doing that!

So, here is the first of the looks that we shot. These were taken at a quiet street in Hampstead, which is my favourite part of London. I wore this gorgeous paisley print dress from ASOS Curve, it’s one of my favourites because of its shape, and the fact that there’s extra ‘puff’ under the skirt ;). I teamed it up with black cropped blazer from Torrid, black wedges, and this funky and supercute necklace that was kindly sent to me from Pieces of the Past.

Blazer: Torrid (via Dani) | Dress: 22, ASOS Curve – sold out (paisley print dresses at ASOS Curve: 1, 2) | Shoes*: Luxury Rebel via Shopbop (similar at ASOS) | Necklace*: Pieces from the Past | Socks: borrowed | Glasses: Select Specs (same in matte) | Lippy: MAC Viva Glam Nicki

Double Vision: Jeans & t-shirt

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hey lovelies,

After a few week’s break it is Double Vision time again! In this challenge my amazing friend Dani and I are choosing a theme, item, movie character.. whatever we come up with basically, and style those our own way and post at the same time, more about the challenge here. This week’s theme was chosen by me, and I chose ‘Jeans & t-shirt’. Now this is something that Dani wears a lot, but I wear basically never, so it was more of a challenge to me, haha ;).

I wish I could wear jeans more, but I feel uncomfortable sitting all day at work in them. I should start wearing them more on the weekends though, as I really like this look I came up with. (Sorry for the sick and tired looking face..)

OOTD: Spring is on its way

Tags: , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello lovelies,

Today was such a beautiful and sunny day, it made me feel like spring is just around the corner :). Even though I’m now suffering with a cold and tucked under duvets, I decided that it is finally time for this post. A while ago I was asked by Best British Bloggers if I was interested in banishing the winter blues with combining a bright item from bonprix with items from my wardrobe. I was certainly interested, since I hadn’t heard about bonprix before – and I love finding new brands! I was sent a list of items to choose from, and when I saw this blazer, I was in love!

It’s funny how much I have changed during this year of blogging. A year ago I would have never imagined to wear something so eye-catching as that blazer, but now I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and try it on. The anticipation got even greater when Best British Bloggers tweeted this tweet – it sounded really amazing! And the blazer didn’t disappoint, oh no, the colours are beautiful and vibrant, and the fit is great too. I chose size 24, and it is a bit big on the shoulders and a bit snug on the belly.. which to me tells that it is true to size, since I am at least 4 sizes around different parts of my body ;).

I wore the blazer with bright blue jeans, bright blue clutch and black and white top, adding some more brights into the mix and finishing with monochrome.

Seriously, this turned out to be one of my favourite outfits ever, I hope you guys like it too :). And huge thanks to Isha for taking my pics again, and of course to Best British Bloggers for introducing me to bonprix! I love my blazer and I will be back at their site for sure ;)

The Plus-size Workwear Challenge: Pencil skirt

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hey my lovelies,

A few weeks ago the gorgeous Naomi of Diamonds n’ Pearls was asking other plus-size bloggers on Twitter if anyone would be interested in doing a five-week workwear challenge. There was a nice response and now it’s the 10 of us doing this! 2 of us will post each working day, and we have been given themes for each week. Please see this post by Naomi for more information :). First week’s challenge was a blazer, and you can see my post here.

This week’s challenge is pencil skirt or pussybow. Since I did a post with a pussybow blouse (the only one I own) a while ago, I decided to go with the pencil skirt. This burgundy jersey skirt is from Primark, the gorgeous wedges are from Shopbop, and I teamed them up with these awesome goodies I received from Curvissa last week - a long knit jumper and a blazer. The final touch is a toucan necklace from New Look. I think the look is very smart for work, but the sheerness of the knit and the wedges bring some sexiness to it. I’m happy I sized up for the jumper, as now it is lovely and oversized. (And thank you so much for taking my pics Isha.)

Blazer*: 24, Curvissa (similar US item at Macy’s) | Jumper*: 26/28, Curvissa (similar US item at Macy’s) | Skirt: 18, Primark (similar at Marisota: 1, 2) | Tights*: 22-26, Lycra Xceptionelle at Yours Clothing | Wedges*: Luxury Rebel at Shopbop (same in burgundy at Bloomingdale’s – US, similar at New Look: 1, 2, similar at ASOS) | Glasses*: Four Eyes | Necklace: New Look (owl at New Look, rabbit at Dorothy Perkins, globe at ASOS) | Lippy: Maybelline Pleasure Me Red (similar by MAC)

That was my take on the pencil skirt, new theme coming next week (and next week I will post on Thursday).  And please don’t forget to enter my anniversary giveaways: a pair of Minnetonka suede moccasinsa £50 gift voucher to Large Cup Lingerie and a $50 gift voucher to IGIGI.

No go and check out if the other bloggers in this challenge chose a pencil skirt or a pussybow and how they wore them!
